Okay, so after months of anonymous stalking I finally registered as a Bee just so I can join the Biggest Loser challenge. I know I’m a week late, but I really need some motivation. The whole, “eh, the wedding is over a year away” mentality is not doing a thing for my ever-widening waistline. Add my laziness with the fact that Mr. Buka is a pencil-thin eating monster and I’ve got some serious weight-loss work to do!

Current weight: 169

I feel healthy at 145, but for the remaining three weeks I’ll aim to get down to 164.

Thanks so much for putting this together!

Can I still join?

I usually weigh in on Saturday’s so my weight last week was 170. I can update that tomorrow when I weigh it.

I use myfitnesspal.com to track my calories and try to workout at least 5 days a week. I do some classes at my gym and use the ellipitcal to get my workouts. I also do hot yoga.

I started counting calories and exercising regularly about 2 months ago. I’ve dropped 10lbs already (hopefully more when I weigh in tomorrow). My goal is to get to 140 by the wedding and then I’ll re-evaluate and see if I can loose more. I’m short (just over 5″0) – so I’m really way above where I should be. I’ve always been curvy so I’m not sure it’s possible to get down to 115 or 120 and be healthy.

Just got back from signing up at the gym!  I am so excited to have a place to workout regularly.  I really enjoy the gym so this is a very good thing to me.  Plus, I get a session with a trainer that is scheduled for Monday.

@Sah: Hope those fittings go well!

I just got back from a spin and yoga class.  It sounds like a bizarre combination, but I love ending the week that way – a hard ride and then some good stretching.  Yay!  I’m so lucky that my year-long pass for the fitness classes at my school’s gym was a steal.  No excuses for not going.  Plus, I found a friend to walk there and back with – 30 minutes each way = hidden exercise!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

@natbug21: I’ve been doing Atkins (the induction phase) for 1 week now and I’m down 4 pounds! I know most of it is water, but it’s something! LOL. The only drawback is that I’ve developed a nagging lower back pain and I suspect it’s related to my diet. Frown

Are you doing the C25K?

Hello Bees, Just wondering if it’s too late for me to join the Biggest Loser Challenge. My current weight is: 215.6 lbs My goal weight by the end of this year is: 176 lbs My goal weight for my wedding that is 2 years away, is anything lower than 176 lbs. I have recently lost 10 lbs in the past 2.5 weeks. I am extremely motivated to keep it up! I’m looking forwarding to the biggest loser challege & hearing about everyone’s weight losses! Xx

@Cyanfire: I’m doing the paleo diet which is also low carb and it can get pretty tough sometimes! I feel like everything is a freaking carb lol. Luckily I am allowed some carbs so I don’t get too grumpy lol.  I haven’t had any lower back pain though that’s weird that it would be caused by the diet… maybe you should ask your doctor about it!

I am starting C25K on monday.  I have actually already run a couple 5k’s and done 3 triathlons but I haven’t run in like 6 months so I need to ease back into it! I have only heard great things about C25K and I think there is a thread about it here on the bee. Also, they just made official apps for the android and iphone yippee!!

I don’t know if anyone has seen/read about the “Cinch” diet but I bought the book a few months ago.  I got the first week or two of food and decided it wasn’t really the plan for me.  Rather than just leaving the book on my shelf if anyone is interested I would be more than happy to send it to you, just send me a pm…on another note, did my 20 min 30 day shred video today (it’s been a long time), here’s to a new beginning!

@HisWifey2012: It’s a butt kicker… but good!  You definitely feel like you’ve accomplished something once you’re done.  I would suggest doing their little demonstrations before you go right into the actual “class” though.  She’s got so many moves, it can be hard to pick up on. 🙂
