I had a run-in with Steak N’ Shake today. It’s FI’s favorite restaurant, and I have grown to adore it as well. He grew up in the midwest where they’re everywhere, and we live on the east coast, so he only gets to go a couple times a year. However, the happiest day of his life came a few months ago when at Steak N’ Shake opened up a mere hour away! We don’t have a car, but this weekend we had rented one. The event we got it for was cancelled, so what were we to do with the car? A trip to Steak N’ Shake, of course! Now, in my head I said, of course I will get a salad. Then, when faced with the menu I broke down and got a double with cheese and a milkshake. I mean, how often do I go to Steak N’ Shake? It should be no excuse, I know. But, I skipped the chili and ate only a few fries, and besides a small bowl of cereal it’s all I ate today. I also went to the gym for an hour. So. . . maybe it’s okay? *sigh*

@Crisark: So sorry to hear about your grandmother’s passing.  I can really relate.  My grandfather had another stroke yesterday is in really bad condition.  I spent 4 sad hours with him yesterday and when I got home I just ate.  I try to tell myself that although the food will make me feel better for a few minutes, the feeling sick and dissapointment will only make me more stressed out.  I just need to take my own advice.  I hope that helps a little bit.  My thoughts are with you and your family.

@Crisark: I am sorry to hear about your grandma *hugs*. Definitely do not worry too much this week. Just be careful and be good to yourself. When you’re thinking about eating and you don’t think you should, maybe take a little walk instead. The walk will help release chemicals in your brain that will calm you and make you feel better (along with keeping you away from the food). Forgive yourself if you think you mess up. Remember, we’re all behind you.

Awesome job everyone! This is a great way to stay motivated and have a buddy system! I did a 3 month workout plan where I did personal training once a week, but also was given homework of goals each week. For example, one week was to monitor your fiber intake and do atleast 3 days of workingout and burning atleast 350 calories. For me, it is hard to find the time to do a long work out so I would alter the homework and just make sure I did the calorie amount during the day even if it was in more that one session. I am down over 10 pound!! More importantly, I really encourage you to measure your waist, thighs, hips, arms, and calfs….I have lost 19.5 inches in the three months from these areas!

We are finsihing up a 2 week break, where I have to admit I have not been as strict, but tomorrow marks the start of another 10 week program! I am excited to get started again! My wedding is in the end of August so this is the last big push!

Try and get some sort of exercise everyday and watch what you eat! I have found that if I am strict during the week, I can let loose a little bit on the weekends when we go out with friends! Keep up the good work!

@tlhoops32: i have heard a similar quote “nothing tastes as good as being thin feels” 🙂

I have to brag on myself again ladies…I did another 5K walk/run today. this time more running but still not a lot. I didnt have  DH with me to keep me from running more LOL

BUT…this week my monthly visitor will be here 🙁 That I am not looking forward too…but I am trying not to think about her because usually she is my excuse to eat whatever I want. I just shrug and say…I have PMS. lol but not this month. my weight in on friday wont be great because of her but it does not matter, because as long as I keep my diet and exercise plan I will be good.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

@Crisark:  big hugs to you! i ditto keltaena’s advice! a little bit of exercise can take away a lot of the stress and sadness your feeling. and we’ve all got your back no matter what!

how is easter going ladies? i ate way too much, but i didn’t finish what was on my plate, so that’s good i guess. went for a quick walk to get the blood flowing, and planning on hitting the gym a bit later for 20 minutes or so.

@bestbuddies:  i too will have a monthly visitor. usually i get horrible headaches that prevent me from wanting to do anything, eating included. it’s horrible. hoping that the exercise and eating better will help me feel better! i only have to put up with it every three months, but it still sucks!

have a great sunday everyone!

@mannellal and crisark: I’m really sorry to hear about your grandparents’ troubles!

Hope everyone’s Easter is going well… we’e not really doing traditional “easter” this year since Fiance has to work, so I’m saved from all the temptations of easter feasts! lol.  I did do week 2 day 1 of couch to 5k earlier and I have been drinking so much more water than normal! Crazy.

Stay strong ladies, and have a great rest of your easter!
