She’s great! Shes a mini daschund, and now she’s about 10 weeks old. We got her on November 5th. Her name is Izzy, named after Tom Izzo, the Michigan State basketball coach : )
She’s the sweetest dog ever! Loveable, lap dog, and she’s just a fun puppy! Right now, she’s at my feet playing with her squeaky corn on the cob I got her from Target for Thanksgiving. Now if I can only get her to stop going poopy on the floor…
Don’t mind the picture of the hubby!

Very cute. Dachshunds are notoriously hard to potty-train. I would give your breeder a call and ask for tips specific to the breed.

@Miss Apricot: Definitely true! My dog growing up was pretty mellow and easyging, Darling Husband has always had doxies and had his for about a year before we met. He’s a cute thing but definitely more high maintenance than I’m used to! I can’t ever leave ours alone in the house because he gets mad about being alone and pees! And we’re talking like taking a shower, not leaving him home alone all day.

Cutest thing ever!! We’ve been thinking about getting a daschund for over 2 years now. I had finally convinced myself that it wasn’t practical living in a high rise but this just ruined it!

@Wonderstruck: Sooo funny you say that because when I take a shower she will stand outside the shower and yip! She’s gotten better.. now she just lays on the rug until I get out and then licks my legs to death to get the water off.
I’ve found out about the potty training issue. As we speak we are trying to figure out how to clean the “gift” she left on our new rug (that’s shag… wonderful). She will go potty on the potty pads but she will go poopy wherever! It’s so annoying I don’t know how to fix it!
Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks!
