- Wedding: September 2010
Before the wedding, before the crafting and last minute scrambling we had an “adventure” throughout downtown Fort Worth. We called the automated telephone service and was told in a monotone exclamation that we needed to visit the courthouse to apply for a marriage license. So we hopped in the car, crammed it in the parking garage and walked THREE miles to the courthouse. Might I add I had a 102 temperature and a sinus infection. If you notice, my Fiance has a bandaid over his forehead and nose. This is the end result of his bachelor party.( He fainted, not from alchohol, his nose broke his fall and he had a minor concussion exactly a week before our wedding day!)
We were so excited! And then before placing our things on the conveyor belt to be scanned the officer recognized that,”deer in the headlights”, look as he called it and sent us to the criminal court next door to acquire our marriage license. Another mile later we ended up at the vital statistics building. After four miles of walking we finally made it to the correct building!
My Fiance at this point was so tired and irritated that the pictures turned out extra good! So we got our marriage license, the clerk grumbled a seemingly mandatory,”congratulations”, and we headed back home. The next couple of days were filled with last minute scrambling! I’ll cover that next!
