Also, if anyone is curious, our budget breakdown. I bolded our priority items and I italicized. Our budget was a flexible one…..if we could afford it without incurring debt, we did it! Our goal was to walk away with no debt at the end. Our engagement was just 1.5 years exactly and we started with about $2000 saved. We are blessed to own our car and our home. So here they are….Pretty accurate estimates, and when in doubt I rounded up!
Photography, videography, engagement shoot, multiple albums, prints, large canvas: $2200
Travel, meals, fun things to do (saw O, did a wild west tour, tons of drinks, helicopter ride, etc): $2000
Reception, dinner, drinks, cake: $2000
Rings (engagement, band, enhancer, hubbys band): $3000
Chapel (ceremony web broadcast, officiant, limo transport, some photos, planner) $525
Musician (this was a splurge item, but I was happy we got the violinist): $300
Bride’s Attire (Dresses, shoes, jewelry, alterations, cleaning, preserving): $1700
Groom’s Attire (suit, tie, shoes, cleaning): $400
Beauty (regular salon visits for color and trims and etc, day of hair, day of makeup, 2 tanning sessions, full set of nails + pedicure, whole body wax–ouch!): $600
Flowers (BM and mine; DIY): $250
Unity candle (DIY): $3
Cake toppers (part bought, part DIY): $30
Gratuities: $250 cash
Invitations, Save the Dates, Thank yous (DIY): $125
Favors (We donated books from Goodwill to the hospital, and then did welcome bags, and cigars, and favors): $250
Wedding Party Gifts (Men got shave kits and soaps and brushes; girls got tank tops, wine glasses, red vic secret robes, pashminas, pearl necklace and earrings sets, and sparkle powder): $250
Bachelorette and bachelor parties: $500
OUR SHOCKING, EARTH SHATTERING, WHERE THE HELL DID THAT MONEY GO TOTAL: About $14,500!!!!
Our honeymoon is in two weeks.
Honeymoon (flights, European cruise, and excursions, plus some spending money): $8000
