I’ve seen it. It made me want a water birth as well, but I’ll probably end up having it at the hospital (whenever that day may be).

It was the beginning of my research into birth in the states! Very eye opening indeed and it’s so sad that the stats are so true…. It’s one of those things you wish wasn’t but is. =(

I think they did a wonderful job of showing both sides considering Abby herself needed an emergency cesarean and they were all so thankful in that moment for the medical technology being avaible when truly needed.

I loved More Business of Being Born too, especially since I’m a vbac momma! I planned an hbac with my daughter that transferred, non-emergent, and ended as a successful unmedicated vbac at our vbac ban hospital! Pretty great accomplishment here where I live. My Darling Husband and I have talked extensively about the mistakes we made in our birth and are pretty set on next time not “needing” the transfer and having a very successful homebirth!

I really feel ALL women considering having children should see both, along with Pregnant in America, so they can begin to be truly informed since these stats, risks, and routine procedures simply aren’t thoroughly & honestly communicated in the medical community.

Glad you saw it and I hope you take it and run with it to be as informed as you can be in whatever route you choose in the birth of your children!
