…a Thursday wedding. Please before you jump on me hear out the reasoning.
We are on a budget. One of my dreams has been to get married at Disneyland (we live an hour away so it’s not a DW). We want a very small wedding, so many ‘regular venues’ won’t even look at us. But we want still a nice wedding (and a fun wedding). All the parents (both sets of his and mine) are retired and have said any day is fine. My sole Bridesmaid or Best Man will be coming in from out of town and has already said anytime is fine. That Thursday is special because it’s the anniversary of the day we met (my very non-romantic Fiance is the one pushing this part surprisingly!). Anyone else we’d invite has already said no problem, or they live in town with flexible schedules.
I know that Thursday weddings are akin to forcing your guests to get tattoos on their foreheads. We both really love the idea, but I am so afraid of putting someone out (yes I am way more worried about my guest’s comfort than my own, it’s wierd I know). We wouldn’t be able to book it for a few more months, so I have some time to think about it, but was wondering about other bees opinions.

If the majority of the people you care about have said they can make it then go for it! If they can’t be there they can look at the pictures ;P

@renwoman: I normally hate thursday weddings, but I’d be super happy as a guest if it was a thursday wedding at Disneyland (I grew up in Mission Viejo, CA).

I think given your situation, a Thursday wedding sounds perfectly acceptable 🙂 Also, who would be mad about attending a wedding in Disneyland?!

Everyone’s on-board! I think we have a plan and for the first time in this venue hunt from hell I feel happy and excited! I also love the fact that everything is taken care of (no schleping diy flowers everywhere, and begging guests to help with set-up and take-down), I might actually get to enjoy my wedding day (gasp!).

Since you said you’re having a small wedding, I’d say a thursday is fine – just expect that a few people probably won’t be able to make it due to the timing.
If I were a guest, the fact that it is in Disney would sell it for me, I’d make a fun vacation out of it – go to the wedding thursday and stay at Disney for friday-sunday.

I agree with everyone else, I think this thursday wedding is just fine! Oh, I just can’t wait to see your recap pictures 🙂 Do you have your wedding dress picked out? Where in Disneyland are you thinking of getting married? I’m so glad your dream is coming true 🙂
