DH and I fell in love with a home awhile ago but there wasn’t much housing stock in winter and the home was grossly overpriced. We’ve see similar homes in the area and nothing comes close to the home we’d been eyes – floor plan, layout, location, etc.
THEN…the sellers lowered the price a few days ago and we put in an offer we thought was fair..they countered with a higher offer, we countered back..now we’re waiting for them to get back to us.
This all all so nerve wrecking! Our realtor told us the sellers should be responding by tonight but I can’t help but check my e-mail every 5 seconds!
There’s so much riding on this home. It’s practically move-in-ready except for a few cosmetic things we want to upgrade. It’s priced well for the area, schools are really good, taxes are low, our commute will be easy and we’ll be near our family members who have graciously offered to help us with a few things once our baby arrives, so the logistics will be much easier.
I’m crossing my fingers, toes and eyes..we want this house so badly!

You sound like me right now!! My husband and I have been house searching for a few months and man is it nerve wrecking!! We are going back and forth with a home right now and the seller is being so stubborn. We are literally $5,000 apart right now and we have bumped up our offer a lot and she just keeps coming back in $1,000 increments. We are seriously about to walk on this one. There are a few others we have offers in on and we either lose out to a bidding war, or we are still waiting. I find myself checking my phone all the time. I seriously need a vacation after this!! Good luck to you guys.

Good luck to you guys too! very stage is so nerve wrecking! Ddi you get any updates from your bids? They accepted our offer but until the inspections and appraisals come back, I’m holding my breath. I’ll rest easy after we close and have keys in hand 🙂

Congrats on them accepting your offer!! I like to think that once we have an offer accepted I will relax a bit, but I know that is not true. Until the inspection and appraisal are done I am sure I will be stressed out! We did not get the last home we put an offer in on. I guess where we are looking (California) it is a sellers market. Everything is priced very high and people are paying full price or higher. Every home we have put an offer in on we have gotten beat out by other bids with either a higher down payment or not asking for any closing costs. My realtor and broker are meeting today to hopefully figure out a way to get our closing costs paid for. That will make us much more competetive when putting in offers. In the meantime, I have found some more homes to look at and will be doing that tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Congrats again!!
