Next issue for discussion is our lovely body arts: Tattoos. I have 2 tattoos on my back and majority of my BMs have tattoos either on their backs, arms, or chest. I really want our tattoos covered up for the wedding. I heard of a makeup application you can use to cover them up, its supposed to last a couple of days and it won’t stain your clothes. Have any of you had experience with the Tattoo cover-ups? Any products you can suggest? I also heard there are make-up artists that can use airbrushing to cover them up, but I am afraid it may stain the dresses.

@cbco: Thank you for the link! I checked it out. Umfortunately they don’t offer enough dark shades. I don’t know if the darkest shade would match me or some of my bridesmaids.

@Charlala8055: Sorry about that! I think that Kat Von Dee makes one too? Probably not personally, but it’s got her name on it..lol. Maybe look into that?

@Charlala8055: I have been looking for kits for me and my bridemaids. We all very different colors so I needed something that would work for all of us. I like this kit because it doesn’t cost and arm and a leg and it comes with everything we need. I am a little worried about it getting on the dresses but I am thinking about maybe setting it with a Mac Fix+ or some other setting spray.

@Waitingforthatdaywithray: I may have to try this. I have two tattoos on my
Décolletage that I would like to cover. The price is very reasonable for all that you get.

Hi! WE used Dermablend for my sister’s wedding. It works well and it is made for this sort of thing and also comes in darker shades.

Airbrush if done correctly will not Stain a dress .I am a MUA and I like the kat von d collection. For me it works the best .Different colors are harder to cover and may need more than 1 coat .My advice is find a MUA who is comfortable in this field you will pay more for the artist, but in the long run save because you would have to buy alot of products for you and your girls

I do wedding makeup for a living and the only thing I feel safe using around all that white fabric is alcohol activated makeup. It will not move! Originally I began using it when I studied Special FX makeup (you can use it for a million different things). But its seriously amazing for tattoos.
I usually run it through an airbrush for a smooth application.

I would recommend working with a professional who has used these before and who has a knowledge of color theory.

Charlala8055: I have 3 tatoos and you can see 2 of them at any given day. I chose not to cover either of them up. I don’t think that they took anything away from my wardrobe. My wedding pix were beautiful and I don’t think any where notice them or cared.

this is a pic showing one of my tatoos.

I’d love to cover my back tattoo. I really don’t want it in my wedding pictures. BUMPING for more suggestions!

I’m having a few tattoos covered.
My MUA will be using a special prosthetic paint that’s waterproof and smudgeproof. It’s the same stuff they use on movie sets and can only be removed by soaking the area with oil for 15 minutes.
