I was introduced to Weddingbee a few months ago by someone who is MUCH farther along in her wedding planning than myself, but since then, I have made it my homepage and check the posts religiously. I am in LOVE! I have been introduced to so many new things, ideas, and personalities, that I’m already dreading when the planning is over and I’ll no longer need to check on the rest of the bees!
This is where we’re at: We’ve booked: The reception site ( A beautiful country club in South Bend) the photographer (Check her out: Krystal Muellenberg Photography) bought my dress, and as of last week, put a deposit down on the DJ! All that, and we still have over a year!
Everyone talks about how wedding planning is so stressful and although I know we’ve barely gotten into the details of it all, I feel like the major stuff is done and I’m not sure what to do next?! I’ve never been in a wedding (my own will be my first AND my first ride in a limo) nor have I been part of anyone planning one!
My question is this: other than the typical ‘wedding calendar’ that’s in every magazine, how did you know what to do and when?

Welcome to Weddingbee! We are glad to have you…you’re in the right place!
Honestly? I use the Knot’s checklist to help me out, other than that I go with the flow or do things when I feel like they need to be done. Sometimes I even bust them out when I’m bored. lol. Probably not the answer you are looking for, though.

Being a year out, the fact that you have all your big vendors booked is really good. There isn’t a done you can already get done and finished this soon. This is a good time to collect ideas about decor, attire other than your own and things like that. I would be careful not to make all your decisions to fast, that way you have time to sit on them.
Congrats for being so proactive already!

WOW you are on top of your game! I have a year and a half and I cant even find a venue ! (long story lol)
I also signed up at The Knot and use the calendar and updates. My BFF gave me a wedding book and its helped a lot. Both my Fiance and I took the quiz and it helped us with our budget and guest list. We got the list together and now we need to find a venue for our budget. As soon as I remember the name ill post it.

Welcome to weddingbee!
I used The Knot’s website also. Sort of made me feel dumb sometimes though.
