I just received my oval crushed ice harro ring today! It’s an 11x9mm oval, both the ring and stone were made by MyMoissanite. I am very thoroughly impressed and cannot take my eyes off it. It looks very clear and sparkly, I love it!

Hi, ladies. I was wondering if you all could give me your opinions on my stone. I ordered a harro crushed ice oval, months ago from a seller on Etsy. The setting and craftmanship of the ring is great, and I wanted to love it- I really did. But, I’ve always felt it looks more like the brilliant cut than the crushed ice. Also, it looks more round than oval, to me. Am I just being way too picky, or are my concerns legit?

coreyb7580 :  Hi, you’re right. That’s an oval brilliant, not a crushed ice! It’s odd that they would have said it was a crushed ice….

coreyb7580 :  I bought my crushed ice oval from their Etsy shop as well and yeah I have to say yours definitely looks like a brilliant cut. What is the measurements of your stone? I went with a 9×6 because I wanted that skinnier oval look. Your concerns are definitely legit! You totally have the right to contact them and complain about the fact that it’s not crushed ice. But as far as it looking more round goes, is solely based on the ratio you chose. So I’d for sure be requesting a new stone in the crushed ice cut you originally picked!

I am embarrassed to say, but I still can’t see really clearly the differences between brilliant and crushed ice… I find both of them beautiful though. I am really loving ovals right now!

So I actually contacted the seller on Etsy, who contacted Harro. They cut me a new stone, and she sent me this pic of what it looks like. I think it looks more like crushed ice, but it has a very pronounced bow tie effect, which the other didn’t have. Maybe it won’t be as noticeable when it’s set in my ring. I wonder if the brilliant cut just masks the bow tie effect better.  I wish we were able to actually see the stone when ordering, since they don’t seem to have very good consistency with their cuts. What do you ladies think of the new stone? By the way, it’s 9×7, same as the other one.

coreyb7580 :  I find that picture a little blurry to be able to tell to be quite honest

Wanted to share this video from Schubach. I’m leaning towards a Harro but their cushion cut moissy is stunning as well!

A video of this beauty. 😍

smcm585 :  Are you talking about the larger stone band I posted with my Harro gem when it was loose? If so, no they are 3mm F1s. The pave stones in my current engagement ring and wedding band are diamonds.

bellabee16 :  agreed. I love Schuabach stones but not their settings. Its too bad they don’t sell their stones individually

hansstillsolo :  did you get your moissy set yet? I would LOVE to see a pic of your finished ring, that stone is STUNNING!! I’m currently waiting on a 8.94 x 6.35 lab diamond to be set… but who knows, 13×9 would be a killer upgrade one day!!

Hi, again. I just got my new replacement crushed ice stone from my Etsy jeweler. Can you all please tell me if I am being ridiculous? I can see more of the crushed ice in the stone, but mostly at the top and bottom, but not the middle. In person, the middle of the stone actually looks almost cloudy, with a glaringly noticeable bow tie effect. I was really hoping for a consistent crushed ice look throughout the stone. I’m not trying to be overly picky, but I’ve seen such gorgeous stones on Instagram and on here, and I feel like mine pales in comparison. I’m considering contacting Harro, but wondering if I’m just thinking way too much into this.
