MrsTeacup:  One of the reasons I wanted to follow this thread is because I have a small heirloom diamond that I’d love to fall in love with, but it is smaller than what I’d always pictured myself wearing (especially because I was/still am thinking about going with a diamond alternative, so price wasn’t as much of an issue).  Your ring/set makes me feel like I could truly love my heirloom, especially if I pair it with the right wedding band.  Now to just get over the fear of possibly ever losing such a sentimental piece!  I feel safer with it in it’s box locked up in my closet. πŸ˜›

circumambient:  Thank you so much!

gbee:  Your reply left the biggest smile on my face. πŸ™‚ What a compliment! You absolutely will fall in love with it, with the right setting and band. I also was initially disappointed with the diamond size. Months before getting engaged, my Darling Husband told me that the diamond was .75-1 carat size. Then, he later mentioned before giving the actual ring to me that although he didn’t want me to be disappointed, the diamond was actually .25 carats. That took me a while to get used to! However, once he proposed and I saw the ring for the first time I knew it was perfect. I adore how dainty and feminine it is! It also suits my finger size of 5.5. The beauty of it combined with the fact that it is an heirloom from his family puts me over the moon. Eventually I would love to add an eternity band to go with it (because let’s be honest, who would say no to more sparkles). Keep us updated on your ring journey! I would love to see what you end up with.

loonylunalovegood:  I love that it gives that square look too. Everyone is always confused by it! I took it to get it resized recently and noticed even the jeweller had written princess cut on the slip.

MrsTeacup:  Yes!  The stone is from my great grandmother’s engagement ring, and while it would be such an honor to wear her stone, it’s just not what I always pictured.  Luckily, I also have small fingers (size 4), so I don’t feel like I need a big stone–it would just be nice.  I’m going to get the heirloom cleaned and measured and see what a jeweler recommends, but ultimately the decision will be my SOs and a total surprise.  I’ll definitely post updates, but I have a feeling it’s still a lonngggg way off. πŸ˜›

So nice to see some realy dainty rings. Mine engagement ring is a 1/4 tcw

I’m not married yet but we picked up the wedding bands so I had to try it on before Fiance put it away. Only a few more weeks until I get to wear them together.

My ring has a high setting with lots of detail on the side which makes me love it even more. Very delicate πŸ™‚

Not an engagement ring but definitely dainty! This is a ring that we found with my grandmas jewelry after she passed away and I fell in love with it. I don’t know anything about it but it’s so dainty and I love it!
