I have a VS1 that is completely eye clean. I have an emerald cut diamond, so fairly high clarity was important.

Mine is either VVS1 or VVS2 … I can’t remember for sure, and I don’t know where my fiance put the paperwork.

Like  @MrsT2009, I have an emerald cut diamond so high clarity was one of the more important things my fiance and I considered when choosing a diamond for my engagement ring.  With this particular cut, I wouldn’t go lower than VS1 or VS2.

    I have a GIA, VVS2 stone.

    – Why’d you pick that clarity.

My husband picked the stone 100% by himself.

    – Do you see any inclusions or flaws?

There is only one small pinpoint and I have never been able to see it!

    – Having worn your ring, do you think you should have gone up or down in clarity?

I’m more than happy with the clarity!  I wouldn’t change anything!

    – What’s the lowest or highest you’d go on the clarity scale?

I think would go as low as an SI1 as long as it were eye clean. I’ve seen a few in person and I could definitely see the inclusions with the naked eye, so I would probably be a picky customer picking out an SI1!  If I could get a beautiful one like @Riesz: has posted above, Id buy it in a heartbeat.  That is the cleanest SI1 I’ve ever seen!

I personally can’t see any flaws in my diamond… but I’m not an expert. I don’t know what the ranking is. I didn’t help pick it out.

I believe my ring is either VVS1 or VVS2, F color. My fiance chose it and I think he made an excellent choice! I don’t see any flaws or inclusions with my naked eye. I have a brilliant cut and love how it sparkles. I never knew much about diamonds until I after I got engaged so I’m not familiar with how other clarity levels look like. I have a three stone ring and I can visibly tell that they have a lower clarity but I’m not sure exactly what they are.

Mine is VS1. I didn’t so much pick the clarity, as fall in love with a diamond with that clarity. I wanted a stone no less than VS2, but would have considered an eye clean SI1. No lower than that. I have searched pretty hard, and can’t find any inclusions with the naked eye. They are even hard to find with a loupe. I’ve only had my ring a couple of weeks, but I love it and wouldn’t change a thing!

My stone is SI-1 and sparkles more than any ring I’ve seen in real life. I was more concerned with color, and am glad I chose to have a better color than clarity. SI is the lowest I would go, but even when I upgrade later in life I can never imagine getting anything above VS1. There is a small inclusion in my ring, but it is only visible with a jewelry loop.

My center stone is SI2. I wanted an eye clean diamond. I cannot see any inclusions with my eye, which is what I wanted. I suppose that is the lowest level of clarity I would accept. I would get a flawless diamond if I could afford it! I wanted to get the best I could for the most affordable price…

My center stone is a VS2. I chose the clarity (we picked my ring together) because I really felt like VS2 was the breaking point where after that, I’d find an inclusion because you bet your butt I stare at my ring enough to find any. I think VS2 is the perfect clarity grade for me, I have a cushion cut and its gorgeous… If I had gone with a step cut stone like an emerald or asscher I would have been likely to not go below a VS1. I feel like if I were to go any higher than VS1 in any shape, I’d be paying for something I couldn’t see.

    VS2 – GIA certified

    – Why’d you picnk that clarity?

I actually gave clarity little consideration. As long as I couldn’t see any inclusions, and the stone looked clear and sparkly, that was all that mattered.

    – Do you see any inclusions or flaws?

No I couldn’t find any if I tried. I only know they are there because the certificate says so…

    – Having worn your ring, do you think you should have gone up or down in clarity?

I’m happy with the stone the way it is.

    – What’s the lowest or highest you’d go on the clarity scale?

As I said, what’s important to me is not the numbers on the page, but how the stone looks in real life. I would get a stone of any clarity so long as I could not see any really obvious inclusions with the naked eye.

My clarity is GIA graded VS1. I would only go up in clarity, not down from there. I cannot see any inclusions in my stone. And the reason I chose that clarity is I initially had a much lower clarity stone and it increasingly bothered me, so we exchanged it.

My center stone is a 3/8 blue diamond, I2. It’s surrounded by a halo of twelve tiny I2 white diamonds. The color is STUNNING and it’s a beautiful little ring. As has been said, the tiny ones look no different than a higher quality and cost way less.

With my I2 center stone, if I look closely I CAN see two tiny coal chunks with the naked eye…and I love it =) It’s precious and a great symbol if any relationship (beautiful despite flaws) and it didn’t break the bank 😉

    @This Time Round:

Just a note for anyone who may read this thread some time that Cut in terms of teh 4 C’s doesn’t refer to shape, it actually refers to cut quality (Ideal, Excellent, Very Good…etc)

My e-ring stone is an I VS1 round with medium blue fluroescence and is one of the most spectacularly cut stones I have ever seen. I’m perfectly happy with stones down to SI, but this is what was available at the time so VS it was.
