After much heartache and stress… Our ‘save the date’ hell is finally over~!
i say ‘save the date’ hell due to my plethora of mistakes when attempting to make these with no former training whatsoever. Sigh..
My 1st mistake was combining too many ideas into one. For example, photo booth save the dates within pocket folded envelopes, with info cards & calendars… (overachiever much?) Needless to say. Those ideas didn’t stick around for very long.. but not before i purchased card stock and a cutter for the trashed pocket fold ideas. Hopefully i can think of some other uses later….
So, no more pocket folds, i decide to do the photo booth postcard idea~… To which i quickly discover that the paper quality for this task does not carry any of the thick postcard-like paper i was envisioning. So i make the brutal mistake of buying 3 different types of postcard paper from Fry’s that i could print myself… No dice. The paper was far too thin and so i had reached the end of my ropes with the whole DIY thing… slowly accepting defeat. Then~ my fiancé nonchalantly mentions that he knew a printing company that his company goes through that would do our postcards for a super small fee since they have done business together for 20+ years?! I gave him the image right that second and ordered our cards.. we decided not to go with the postcard layout on back since we were going to throw ’em in envelopes, so alternatively we only put our wedding website link on the back of the card. A few days (Yes, days!) later:
Since i had given up on the DIY printing for the Save the Dates i thought about how i could realistically do something creative without too much research/stress…. Back to google searching for DIY templates and i come across this:
SOLD! I decided to print up the envelopes on white paper and since we had our own photobooth image we didn’t need the insert but i thought it would be super cute for anyone interested. I am also thinkin’ of using the insert’s paper airplane image for our Thank You card envelopes or inserts.. haven’t figured that out yet but will post when i do.
Here’s what the envelopes look like when printed on white paper:
And here are the addressed ones:
The super amazing fiance also bought us a custom stamp for our return addresses~! It all came out even better than i had hoped. But most of all~ Just glad to be done with it. 0_o
What do you think?
Any funny save the date hell stories?
