I got that book from the library and also was thinking about doing something similar to the submerged centerpieces and the seating chart.  I haven’t started any of the projects yet though, still trying to work on some of the bigger things.

I am doing the submerged centerpieces and I recently did a mock up of them and they turned out great!  PM if you’re interested in hearing more about them and seeing pictures.

I would still test out some of the projects before you make a decision–they never turn out quite the same for different people…and it may not be the look you’re going for, or more work than you planeed on/have time for!

Good luck, though!  DIY is so fun and rewarding!

I {now regretfully} bought the book and haven’t used it… the crafts seem pretty easy, so if you’ve crafted before they should turn out fine! I think the water-submerged idea is fab, but may be tricky making sure you get a good seal. Definitely do a trial-run first!
