Just dance by Lady Gaga makes me want to dance. I also really like the song that goes “Hey Mickey, you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey.” I don’t know for sure what it’s called, but it’s probably Hey Mickey. It’s a good old school wedding song.

Bad Romance by Lady Gaga.  Also, at the last wedding I went to, everyone went nuts for Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi.  Except my fiance who hates Bon Jovi, so sadly we can’t play that one at our wedding.

I love motown songs, it will get a lot of the older crowd up and going. “Shout” by the Isley Brosthers is great b/c with the Wedding Crashers movie out, the younger crowd will love it, too.

A new song I really like for its bass and music is “G6” by Far East Movement, but that’s definitely for the younger crowd.

from my experience with wedding playlist, (i’ve helped with a few family DJ weddings) ppl will tell you they will dance to the “top 40”. but when they’re at an event with all their family, ppl tend not to.

I’d play a few new “megahits” like a new song by the black eyed peas and beyonce. But i’d honestly only pick a few “hit songs”, unless you’ve seen you families dance to it at family functions.

then i’d pick a fair amount of country (becuz even if ppl say like don’t like country, they still dance to it because two-stepping is easy). Pick classics like kick off your boots, tequila makes her clothes fall off, and fishing in the dark, becuz everyone will know them.

Then go with lots of classics, like “shout”, “the twist”, “brown eyed girl” “pretty women”.

Then have a few “girly” songs. Depending on the ages at your wedding, this could be taylor swift, cindy lauper or spice girls.

Don’t forget a few polkas and maybe a song you can do the butterfly to.

Finally, I would recommend playing a few of “those annoying wedding songs” like the chicken dance, the YMCA or the Macarena. Ppl will go on and on about how much they hate those songs, but ppl seriously do dance to them.

Oh, also try to include any “family songs”. My entire extended, for example, will get up a dance to Midnight Train by Journey.
