Don’t look at your pictures anymore. They are not what your dress will look like when it arrives.  Your dress will fit you much better.  The neckline will probably sit up higher and the waist, bust and hip areas will fit you much closer and the back dip will come up slightly.  It may be hard to visualize but don’t compare your dress to a sample that is too big for you.  When the dress comes in try it on and see what you do and don’t like about it then.

lynnmarie3 :  The sample dress is clearly way too big for you.  Your waist isn’t even visible!   It is a beautiful dress and I hope you will love it in your size!!

I like it! I’m very short too and often wear belted dresses. I never understand comments like ‘it’ll elongated you’ / ‘make you look taller’ etc. I think looking short is a great thing and doesn’t need to be disguised. If you want to wear a belt, do.

I love your dress! Looking at pictures of you wearing the sample is never going fill you with confidence and make you go “wow”! I was exactly the same. Like you say, it’s a few sizes too big and you’re going to be missing that “polished” look you’ll have on the day when you get your heels on, your hair and make up done and all the accessories. Trust your instincts you had at the time. It really is a beautiful dress!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s gorgeous!!! How is it not a show stopper?? Your correct size should give you more of a waist, as PP’s have said. But other than that, you look amazing!!!

I wouldn’t add a belt…your dress has so much detail already.

there are a lot of diiferent belt styles. what are you considering?

Also I think it looks beautiful and classic, you’ll probably fall in love again when you see your very own!

lynnmarie3 :  no belt. It’s going to make you look shorter – the stylist is correct. Belts cut you in half. Belts are nice on something like a ball gown where the dress is already broken up, and it helps to make the waist look even smaller. Or they look nice on really tall women who want to break up the mass of white. But honestly I think most belts are not helpful on most women who choose them – in the majority of cases, the only thing a belt is helping is the bill at the bridal salon

lynnmarie3 : It’s a stunning dress and the lace is so pretty. It looks great on your figure too. I see where the shop assistant is coming from where a belt may not help elongate your body, plus my other worry is that it would disrupt the look of the lace.

It’s a very pretty dress it’s just way to big, once it arrives in your size you will fall in love with it all over again

Looking objectively, it’s very hard to see the basis of your regret when your dress is so beautiful and looks so lovely on you. I feel a belt would detract.  Remember that your bouqet will add a whole other element to the look.

It is so hard to look at pictures of yourself wearing a dress that doesn’t fit and without all of the accessories and feel good about it! If you’re feelign really unsure of the dress, maybe you can head back to the shop and try it on again.  This might help remind you of how amazing you felt when you first tried it on and loved it ๐Ÿ™‚ PS- do we have the same dress??  If not, our lace pattern looks so similar!  I love your dress, if it helps at all, and think it looks lovely now- and will look even better when it’s your size ๐Ÿ™‚20151114_143100
