  5. Who are your favorite designers? Benjamin Roberts (Anjolique and Enzoani), Lazaro, Allure, Maggie Sottero

That is a lovely idea!! I wish you the best of luck! I want to get into the Bridal business as well, but as a wedding planner!

  1. Did you buy your dress from a store or online? From a store!
  2. Was it a good experience? It was a wonderful experience! The staff were so sweet, understanding, and kept complimenting me!
  3. What did you like the most about dress shopping? Trying on so many pretty dresses
  4. What did you like least about your experience? Having the wrong people there with me
  5. Who are your favorite designers? Mori Lee, Alfred Angelo, Ian Stuart, Maggie Sotterro
  6. What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? More variety of dresses and more sizes! There aren’t a wide range of sizes where I’ve been so that plus-size ladies can feel comfortable trying a dress on
  7. What kind of advertisements catch your eye? Vintage-designed advertisements with a beautiful bride on it
  8. Did you get a deal on your dress? Nope!
  9. Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? I did! We asked if we could have something free if we bought the dress that day, and they let me decide between a tiara or a veil. I chose the tiara, which was retailed at 77 gbp.
  10. What dress did you end up with? Mori Lee 1667-it was too small for me when I tried it on but that didn’t put me off! I still knew it was the one
  11. Would you mind an “appointment only” type shop? I prefer it! I’ve been looking at other Bees’ pictures of themselves in dress shops, and I didn’t like seeing other brides in the background! I definitely love the privacy of having a room to yourself to try them on and look at yourself in a mirror.

  1. Did you buy your dress from a store or online? store
  2. Was it a good experience? yes
  3. What did you like the most about dress shopping? Being able to finally try on dresses!
  4. What did you like least about your experience? Though the consultant was good, I felt like the owner was rushing me.
  5. Who are your favorite designers? Allure and Mori Lee
  6. What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? More variation in sizing.  Maybe an 10 and 18 in each dress, so the plus sized ladies aren’t left out.  I think lighting and lots of mirrors so you can see every angle are VERY important.  I also think the ability to take photos before purchasing would be nice, but i understand why it’s not allowed in some stores.
  7. What kind of advertisements catch your eye? Magazine ads are the best.  Online review sites also make a HUGE difference.
  8. Did you get a deal on your dress? no, but the price I paid was average
  9. Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? not that I know of, but it hasn’t come in yet.  A discount on alterations or a free veil would definitely make me consider a boutique.
  10. What dress did you end up with? Allure C157
  11. Would you mind an “appointment only” type shop? not at all.  I think it gives them time to prepare and thus gives you a better experience.  My boutique was appointment only for wedding dresses.

  1. Did you buy your dress from a store or online? Store
  2. Was it a good experience? Yes, we had been to DB the day before and hadn’t found anything I loved, so my mom and I tried this smaller shop that didn’t require appointments and I found about  dresses I loved right away. The consultant I had was awesome and gave me great advice while trying on dresses.
  3. What did you like the most about dress shopping? Trying on so many beautiful dresses! The other thing is that I feel like my consultant was very knowledgable about dress sizing, she ordered me a dress a size below my street size and as much as I questioned that decision- she was right on! Just needed length altered about half inch and a bustle added.
  4. What did you like least about your experience? I did not like my DB experience because although I had an appointment and it was a weekday, my consultant was pulled away by her manager after my first dress and then she was there for me every once in a while- really not her fault, I totally blame the manager.
  5. Who are your favorite designers? Mori Lee, Maggie Sotterro, Ramona Keveza (I’m sure that I didn’t spell that correctly)
  6. What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? Spacious dressing rooms, lots of mirrors and clean floors 🙂
  7. What kind of advertisements catch your eye? Anything black and white
  8. Did you get a deal on your dress? I live out of state and they offered to ship me my dress for free!
  9. Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? Yes- I got to choose a veil or shoes (under $100 or it would be a credit towards the purchase) because my dress was $1000 or more.
  10. What dress did you end up with? Maggie Sottero’s Karena Royale
  11. Would you mind an “appointment only” type shop? Nope! However, I went to 3 dress shops and my worst experience was at the only shop I actually had an appointment- I felt like I didn’t have an appointment and after having flown 1,200 miles….I was a bit put off! I really did like being able to just walk into the 2 smaller shops when I wanted.

  1. Did you buy your dress from a store or online? Store but did hours of online shopping and picked the store based on the fact that they had the dresses I wanted to try on
  2. Was it a good experience? well kind of. I flew in for the appointment and the my consultant was late to work! Another lady ended up helping me and she was awesome.
  3. What did you like the most about dress shopping? Being able to finally try on these amazing dresses
  4. What did you like least about your experience? Not feeling important to – She was over 30 minutes late to even get to the store!
  5. Who are your favorite designers? Reem Acra or Vera are my dream dresses but the actual contenders for my dress were Nicole Miller and Jim Hjelm Blush – I went for Jim Hjelm Blush in the end
  6. What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? – friendly staff!!
  7. What kind of advertisements catch your eye? beautiful windowfronts and I like a simple ad – very natural and emphasis on the dress
  8. Did you get a deal on your dress? No – I wish!
  9. Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? Nope 🙁
  10. What dress did you end up with? Jim Hjelm Blush 1104

    1. Did you buy your dress from a store or online? Store
    2. Was it a good experience? Yes, but exhausting
    3. What did you like the most about dress shopping? Trying on all of the amazing dresses. For me, seeing myself in that first dress was like a reality check. The whole idea of getting married became real.
    4. What did you like least about your experience? It was exhausting! I went to about 5 different stores over a few weekends and probably tried on about 30 different dresses. I was so scared of having dress regret.
    5. Who are your favorite designers? Allure and Watters
    6. What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? Making sure it feels like a unique and special experience. That was the main reason I ended up buying my dress from the boutique I did.
    7. What kind of advertisements catch your eye? Ones that fit my wedding theme.
    8. Did you get a deal on your dress? No
    9. Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? I  was given a credit for some accessories for buying my dress during the designer’s trunk show.
    10. What dress did you end up with? Allure 8856
    11. Would you mind an “appointment only” type shop? No, I found that the places that were appointment only I received significantly better serve.

    GOOD LUCK! Hope this helps!

    1. Did you buy your dress from a store or online? Store.
    2. Was it a good experience? Yeah, it was very nice and my consultant was awesome.
    3. What did you like the most about dress shopping? The service was great, everyone was really excited that I found my dress (the other consultant, a third consultant that happened to come upstairs, another huge group who was there lol, the people at the counter when we put down the deposit).
    4. What did you like least about your experience? They told me that my dress was by their house brand, when in reality, it was designed by another designer (Venus) that doesn’t brand their dresses and allows shops to brand them as they wish. I also had to pick out my own dresses, which was fine, but I would have liked my consultant to choose some for me.
    5. Who are your favorite designers? Maggie Sottero, Jim Hjelm, Mori Lee, Lazaro, Tara Keely, Vera Wang, Enzoani.
    6. What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? Beautiful interior design, good lighting, knowledgable/friendly staff, pictures allowed (my salon allowed it and it was lovely). Also, on-site alterations (this sounds weird, but my salon doesn’t offer them).
    7. What kind of advertisements catch your eye? Ones where the model doesn’t look like an alien.
    8. Did you get a deal on your dress? No. It wasn’t expensive, but we paid full price.
    9. Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? Not free, but I got $50 off any accessories if I purchased my dress that day, as well as discounts for the tuxes we chose (they call it “VIB” status). It also offers money off gown preservation and free storage/pressing before the wedding.
    10. What dress did you end up with? Venus Pallas Athena AF086
    11. Would you mind an “appointment only” type shop Nope–my shop was appointment only.

    • Did you buy your dress from a store or online? Store
    • Was it a good experience? The one I bought it from, yes.
    • What did you like the most about dress shopping? Trying on dresses! 🙂 I liked when the consultants pulled dresses based on what I asked for, but I also liked when I got to pick my own out too.
    • What did you like least about your experience? I did not like the stores that tried to hard sell, refused to let me take photos, and did not tell me the name of the designers I was trying on.
    • Who are your favorite designers? Mori Lee, Casablanca, Allure, Maggie Sottero
    • What would you like to see in a bridal boutique? A large selection of dresses; lots of space to try things on, so you’re not cramped into a tiny dressing room.
    • What kind of advertisements catch your eye? I don’t know. I guess any ads that show a model in a dress, instead of just a store name.
    • Did you get a deal on your dress? Yes, I did, because they knew I had tried on the same dress at another store–so they beat that store’s price.
    • Did you get anything for FREE for buying your dress at a certain place? No, nothing for free.
    • What dress did you end up with? Casablanca 2037.
    • Would you mind an “appointment only” type shop? Not at all–I made appointments at every place I went. If you don’t have appointments, how would the consultant be devoted to you? (DB being the exception, since their customer service is usually poor in my experience even with an appointment.)
