I have a few questions about the dress I purchased for my wedding this summer, and I am not generally worried too much about this stuff, but I feel like it’s all I can think about, so I was hoping for some help.
I am attaching some pictures–hope they do the dress justice. Please feel free to answer some or all questions. Thanks, ladies!!! (PS: Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures–cell phones are not always great for this sort of thing, lol).
1. How do I bustle this thing?
2. Should I wear a veil? (My mother is obsessed with the veil, but I am not quite sold)
3. What can I wear underneath to tone down my love handles–I know most people won’t notice them, but I will. The dress is so form fitted, that it might be hard to wear something underneath.
4. Shoes? Color? My dress is ivory, but I’d like to maybe do some neat shoes, something unqiue.

You are a stunner! That dress is perfect on you! I think a veil with it would be beautiful… Especially if you did a cathedral length one!
My Maid/Matron of Honor had a fit and flare style dress and she did a 6 point bustle and it was beautiful!
What love handles? You are seriously rocking that dress! I totally understand the insecurities though! I have MANY of my own! Now I know these are FAR from glamorous or sexy but spanx would work fine under this dress… Get them in the nude colour and just do regular waist ones… Not the high waisted and I think it would Do the trick!
Shoes are almost the best part as far as I’m concerned! What are your colours? You should do a really bold coloured peep toe! I would maybe stay away from sparkle though because your dress already has so much! You could do a bright blue peep toe and then it could be your something blue!

@Makemeamrs: Thanks so much! I love the blue shoe idea. Very clever. I do not have the head for these things. Ha. I didn’t realize there were so many shoe options in the world for brides–it’s crazy! Is a 6-point bustle hard for my girls to replicate? They are worried about not being able to do it on site when the time comes. Thanks again!!!!!

The bustle was sooo easy! It was just 6 little hook and eyes places right about the back of her knees and all we had to do was connect the hook to eye… Bustled in under a minute!

@Bookworm83: Holy, that dress looks great on you!
I like finger tip veils but am biased so I would take that advice with a grain of salt 🙂
As for a bustle….I didn’t bustle my dress and am guessing a more experienced bee can help you out!

Very pretty! I can’t give advice on veil and shoes since I’m the worst at putting things together but I wanted to compliment you on the dress. You look lovely and I honestly do not see any love handles!

Thanks again, everyone. I am also terrible at putting things together. This whole process has become very overwhelming since we are having a large at home reception after our destination wedding as well. Craziness. Somehow I ended up essentially planning two weddings! At least I have the dress, right? That’s a step in the right direction. I would love to see some pics of other bustles if anyone has them. Especially fit and flare bustles. Ideas for shoes are great, too!!!! Bring ’em on!

I am thinking of using this stuff. Just for a little tweak. Anyone familiar with it? http://www.tapeshaper.com/photos/
Ok, I also am looking for jewelry suggestions. I was thinking simple diamond studs borrowed from my grandmother–the something borrowed. Any thoughts?

I have the same dress too and I got a chapel-cathedral veil, its as long as the dress but idk how long it is lol. I tried on the short veils and didn’t like it with the dress. I would say you should either wear a long veil or no veil and just get some pretty hairpeices. It look beautiful on btw! 🙂 i have a picture of my veil on annetown’s page if you’d like to get an idea 🙂
