I don’t think there’s such a thing as THE Dress. It’s silly to expect that only one dress will be perfect. I think that you try on as many as you feel like trying on and then pick your favorite. If you have two favorites, like I did, just pick one!

Some people say that you get this special feeling and you “just know.” But that just puts pressure on you to keep trying dresses until that special feeling comes, and  keeps you from making a decision. As you see, more than one dress can make you cry and get emotional, so there’s no magic rule 🙂

No matter how many dresses I tried on no other dresses measured up.

@girlwitharing – i totallllly agree! at least this is true for me!

I chose a dress which flattered me and just looked awesome on my body – but I didn’t have “the feeling”…I remember last time I was at DB with my maids, trying on their dresses, a girl there was getting her bridal gown and started bawling at the dress she chose…which – hey good for her! however – I’m just not that kind of girl when it comes to my wedding…which is funny because I can be a very emotional person but it was more just like “yeah – this is the best one” mom loved it. i loved it. Maid/Matron of Honor loved it…but there wasn’t any “omg” feeling at all…

HOWEVER that being said – again I know many women DO cry when they put on “the dress” but some just don’t. 🙂

I knew it was “The One” because I compared every other dress I tried on to that dress.  None of the others came close and it was on sale, heeey !

i just loved the way i felt in it. i didn’t want to take it off and i kept twirling around the room! plus my motto for my wedding seems to be “quick decisions!” so i bought a dress the first day i went out looking.

i agree with girlwith a ring. i feel like it’s just a dress. yes, it’s a special dress, for a special day, but it’s still just a dress. i’m sure there could be lots of dresses that i love. i bought the first one that i found in my price range.

I didn’t cry or anything with my dress…I just knew it was the one when no other dresses I tried on came close to measuring up! I kept going back to that one dress and nothing else was going to be good enough!

It was the only dress that gave me happy vibes before my consultant zipped me up and then I saw myself marrying my fiance.  I went out to show my sister and mom- my sister’s reaction sealed the deal.  I was so happy I skipped back into the dressing room.

I knew mine was the dress when I didn’t want to take it off!
