I ordered my brides maid dress from David’s bridal in January. They took my measurements, had me try on several sizes, and finally the girl wrote down the size that fit and I ordered the dress.
Or so I thought.
When I picked up the dress I was in a huge hurry doing other things, and since I had tried on the dress 5 times before (the bride was a touch indecisive) I figured the dang thing would fit.
I tried on the dress yesterday so my mom could add some removable straps to the dress. The thing won’t zip. It’s a size too small. They ordered me the wrong size!!!
I went back to DB and the girl said there is absolutely nothing they can do.
The wedding is in 9 days and I don’t know what I can do. Has anyone had any luck in getting DB’s help with this? They ordered me the wrong dress, shouldn’t they have some responsibility to fix this?? And if they don’t, what can I do?

They should pay to alter the dress, if it can be altered. I think you need to talk to a seamstress fast! Good luck!

Bring it to a seamstress and see how much they can let it out. They can usually get at least an inch

Any way you can have it taken out slightly by a tailor? You still have a few days for this. I dont’ think DB will do anything for you since you already tried and I haven’t heard the greatest things about them. With the time frame you have I’d just do whatever it takes to make what you have work. If its only a size smaller, it most likely can be taken out.

Also, they should have something in stock somewhere, even if you have to drive an hour or two, start calling NOW!!

@brokeassbridesmaid: Usually when you order something from DB, they will give you a printout that gives the style, size, and latest delivery date for whatever dress you ordered. If that printout has a size on it that’s different that what you got, they have to fix it.
However, if they ordered what was on the printout and it doesn’t fit, they may be able to call around to other stores in the area to see if they have the same style and color of dress in one of those stores. Unfortunately, depending on the day/time you go into DB the service can vary greatly. Hopefully, you will find a nice salesperson who would be willing to help you out.
ETA: If all of that fails…you will probably pay out of the wazoo, but you should be able to get the dress taken out.

@JamaicaBride: None of my BM’s got a print out so I do not think this is true. Because I was with when all ordered. When we ordered theirs we were told they will be delivered such n such a date.
OP I would try to find as PP said a tailer to see if the dress can be let out at all.

@Sassygrn: That’s weird b/c every time I have ordered something from DB, I got a printout. Even when I just ordered accessories. The sales consultant even went over it with me to make sure the sizes and everything were correct. If you didn’t get a printout, what DID you get?
