So 7 weeks ago I came home from the bridal shop with my dress (Margaret by Sottero and Midgley). I tried on the sample which was a size 12 when I bought it and it was snug but I ordered the 12 anyway (forgetting that the sample size has been stretched from everyone trying it on). Well–I put it on with my moms help…she was quiet and then said “its not going to button” it was 3 inches exactly away from buttoning on the flap to the corset. Of course I wanted to lose weight and tone up for my wedding but the dress wasn’t fitting and I was just about in tears if I wouldn’t be able to lose the weight. The bead work is so intricate around that area that I didn’t want to let it out.
I did some running and a few workouts but my diet sucked and I wasn’t motivated. But finally I decided to do the south beach diet about 3 1/2 weeks ago. So far I’ve lost 8 pounds and my jeans are less snug. But I did not think my dress would button still.
So today, I couldn’t take the anticipation. I couldn’t wait ANY LONGER to try on my beauitful wedding dress so I put it on, snapped the button that was it. IT WAS LOOSE! And I am so happy. Now I’m thinking I should have gotten then 10 because it was also loose in the waist and everywhere else (with the corset back as tight as possible) 🙂 I have a lot of toning to do but I think about 10-15 pounds more to lose would be reasonable and would make me feel amazing in my dress!
I am so, so relieved and excited. I thought I would share!

Thanks you everyone! I’ve been smiling all day…it seems so silly since I know its only 8 pounds and a few inches but whew, it sure did make me feel better!
And it gave me the confidence boost I needed to know I’m on the right diet and working out enough. Instead of working so hard and getting nowhere!

Good job!!! South Beach really does work, I’ve been on it since January 2 and have lost 20 lbs. I seriously almost never have cravings and I’m only hungry at mealtimes. It’s kinda magic.

Ya’ll are awesome 🙂 thank you!
@Lorenzo: Right?? I wish I would have done this a long time ago! A lot of the time when I try diets, I give up easily or they just suck so bad that I get depressed. But I’ve never actually cut out bread and sugar and I haven’t craved any junk food. I just have a ton of energy and I’m feeling so positive.
