Seems like a good time to stop caring what everyone else wants for you and just be true to yourself. Ice blue tea length dress sounds delicious. I bet you look amazing in it.

VictorianChick:  In the words of my mother: “They don’t have a dime in your dollar!”

If they are not buying you a dress then they can hsve several seats.

VictorianChick:  I saw the dress before you deleted it. It’s very pretty. I can see why some people might think it’s too casual to be a wedding dress though. If you’re too embarrassed to show it, I feel like you might want to go with a different dress.

This one has a similar pattern, is in your budget, and comes in a blue color: http://www.bhldn.com/dresses-view-all-dresses/odette-dress

I didn’t see the dress before you deleted it, but it sucks that everyone is being so negative about it. I would say that you should just wear it anyway, but it really depends on you and how you feel, I know that for me once something has been criticised harshly I can never look at it the same way again 🙁

If you feel like you have to replace it, I love this blue dress:  https://www.etsy.com/nz/listing/225192976/ilaria-sky-blue-tulle-wedding-dress?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=blue%20dress&ref=sr_gallery_20

I didn’t see the picture you posted, but if you are “too embarassed” to even show a photo of the dress on an anonymous internet site, I feel like maybe it isn’t the dress for you.

VictorianChick:  I went back to a thread you commented on to see the dress. It’s so pretty, and with a bouquet and/or a veil, it would be soft and romantic and vintage and bridal. You need to wear what YOU want to wear. That dress is such a neat find! If you don’t like or want a traditional wedding dress, please don’t get one!

Why are you embarrassed? Is it because you don’t like the dress, or because you’re worried we won’t like it?

Unfortunately I did not get to see the image you posted, so I am going based off what I have read, to try and give you some suggestions.

This dress is a Wedding dress but comes in a light steel colour that looks purpley-blue, http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_white-by-vera-wang-draped-organza-wedding-dress-4xlvw351178_wedding-dresses-all-wedding-dresses

The following are not wedding dresses by normal standards but can certainly be worn as one.

I would go with what makes you feel beautiful and confident in. If you are going to feel more beautiful and confident in the blue dress great, but if you’re going to be self-conscious about what others think all day that you can’t enjoy yourself then maybe you should keep looking until you find one that you are happy both ways in.

BUT also you do not wanna look back at your wedding and wish you went with one dress over the other.

I got a gorgeous corseted vanilla ball gown for $550. Going to hem all but the top two layers which will add up to a 40 alteration bill. I went to 3-4 shops and got 350 off my gown. I was going to go with a less expensive 200-300 dress, but I’m glad I didn’t give up having the dress I wanted. Also, I knew it was important to my fiancé that I have a train and some oomph to the dress, so I can’t wait to wow him. 🙂

If you look smokin’ and feel confident in the dress go for it. Do you photograph well in it, that was defiantly something that helped sel the deal for my dress. I looked amazing in the pictures for it (and my sisters agreed.) I’d say go for it, but you did say it looked cheap, so I hesitate a bit.

You should be so excited! 🙂 It will be an adventure for you to find a dress that fits your style and feel gorgeous.

I looked up your dress on a previous post. It is very pretty and you could totally rock it as a wedding dress but judging by the self doubt you are displaying it may not be the wedding dress for you.

If you love retro inspired clothing look into 50s styled wedding dresses.  The google search  I did shows some amazing dresses. That way you are traditional enough not to get the stares and comments you are worried about but untraditional enough to make you happy and make your heart sing!  at the end of the day you will have all eyes ob you on the big day and it is important to feel confident and beautiful.

Just w thought… If you are into it (judging only by your WBee name)Have you looked into Victorian inspired wedding dresses?
