I think, you shouldn’t listen to anybody, because it’s your wedding and you must choose the dress, which you really love!

Wow I’m falling in love with blue wedding dresses!!!!!

soontobemrsmf: hmmm. Not sure what It looked like. But it appears someone snatched it up quickly!
zl27: I think thats what I want to do. Reline with blue if I can find the right dress. I dont like form fitting things and I can’t wear mermaid style. its very unflattering on me. I was thinkin More A line.
I found a dress that I love, but its white and its wayyyyy outta the price range anyway. But its the style I like. Of course its from the UK.
I told my mother that I was ditching the dress. She couldn’t have been happier. Then she brought me shoe shoppin and I had a stren conversation with her to ditch the white idea cause it won’t happen so stop talking about it. The dress will be blue!

I went back and looked at your blue dress and I really like it! It’s so feminine and sweet. I say wear what makes you happy.

VictorianChick: I’d love to help but I’m a little confused about what you like.
I found these on Etsy. They come in blue and full length and it seems like you could also add sleeves. They seem like what you were saying you wanted and are very affordable.
I think it’d be really pretty if you did blue under with white lace on top. But I also really love the blue lace and blue under that’s featured in the first photo I’m posting.
What do you think? Which one is the UK one you like now?

franklymydearidont: That light blue is very pretty. And I like the style of the purple one if it was long, and didnt have that ruffle on the bottom and that lace at the V. All things that can be changed so nothing that can’t be worked with. I’m taking serious consideration into the Renz person…lady…or whatever you’d like to call her. I think that she can probably do waht I am looking for.
Truthfully though I have been given some great help, and I am forever thankful to everyone. I wont lie. It hurt a bit..having to give up my dress, but I think in the end I will have something more fitting that is me and I’m not giving up EVERYTHING that I wanted. I wanted an Edwardian wedding when I frist started and then it got so stripped down. Now I have a glimmer of some hope 🙂
I like Sally Lacock. Its called Vivine. Its very Edwardian.

VictorianChick: you are going to think I am crazy, but there are a ton of vintage 60s and 70s light blue Gunne Sax dresses out there that might meet your look. They are so cheap, so you could buy one, see if it fits, then buy another if need be to get the right size. Then you could tailor any changes.
Finally, if you decide to get a dress made, I highly recommend finding someone local. I know of seamstresses in a lot of places so feel free to PM me if you want.

VictorianChick: btw, if you find yourself in a bridal shop that has a light blue strapless A-line dress, will you do me a HUGE favor and try it on with a white lace topper just to see. Your figure sounds eerily similar to mine and I think you might be shocked.

I just wanted to say good luck! I like your original dress- it’s beautiful- but, from reading your thoughts here, it sounds like even that dress wasn’t quite what you were looking for. I’ve been amazed by all of the pics and links to dresses people have posted for you- I think people really stepped up to help (plus, I’m a little amazed- how do people find all those dresses?!?) and I think you’ve got lots of good suggestions. I hope you find something now that really fits that ice-blue, Edwardian vision you have. Good luck!

VictorianChick: I doubt no one commented because it was so ugly. Go through the posts on here, people tend to be overly critical and I’m sure a lot of women have spent the day/night crying over what people have said to them on here. They probably didn’t say anything because they were neutral about it.
I’m a pretty casual dresser, but when we dress up I tend to wear vintage style dresses. I plan on getting married in a short tea length dress. My Boyfriend or Best Friend has said several times he can’t see me getting married in white (for one I spill everything and every white item I own gets ruined with in the first couple of wares). He has said several times he figures I will get married in teal. If you want to rock blue, rock blue. If you want to rock a short dress, rock a short dress! You want to look back on that day and feel beautiful, not uncomfortable and hating what you wore/looked like!
