Long story short: I feel like a princess in one dress, but I don’t feel quite as amazing when I see the photos – call this dress 1. In dress 2, I didn’t feel much emotionally when I put it on, but I thought the photos were gorgeous. How would you weigh these factors up when making a decision?
Right now, I’m leaning towards dress 1 because I want to feel special and to make a statement, but I could be swayed either way. I’ve got some photos: they’re not great quality or at great angles, and I’m not particularly sure they’ll help people with my particular question, but they’re here in case they’re useful.

I actually have to disagree and say that #1 looks more special in the photos! I understand though. I had a long dress finding process, and at the boutiques where they allowed pictures, I always looked at my top pics afterwards. There were a few I really liked when I tried on, but when I looked at the pictures it was totally different than how I remembered it. I think #1 looks beautiful, and if that’s the one your heart wants, I say go for it 🙂

Thank you! I worry that I’ve tried on too many dresses and this is making the choice harder. I had some nicer shots of the second dress with better lighting, but those were taken on the side from below, and I wanted to keep it simple with just a front shot and a back shot. I appreciate your feedback and it is definitely helpful 🙂

I prefer dress #1 in your photos, so if that one makes you feel more special, I would go with that one!

Like PPs, I prefer dress 1. It’s beautiful

Dress 1 has way more wow factor, in my opinion. I say go for it if it’s the one that feels better on. You will look beautiful either way!

I like dress 1 and that one makes you feel special it sounds like it’s the one.

Your pictures will turn out better on the actual day in whatever dress you feel better in! So if dress 1 makes you feel amazing, go for it!

I originally was going to say dress 1 is way prettier to me in the pictures so if it’s the one you loved more, it’s a no brainier! But I kept looking back and forth, and I do see what you mean that dress 2 might photograph a little better and I think it’s because it’s not as puffy, it has a slimmer silhouette. But if I didn’t see dress 2 I would say dress 1 is perfect for you. You’re probably right that you’ve looked at too many dresses. Stop comparing, and just look at dress 1 on its own. It’s beautiful.

I much prefer dress 1. They are both beautiful, but I don’t understand the harsh angles of the fabric draping down in dress 2, I don’t find it pleasing to the eye. I do think the neckline looks great on you though. Dress 1 looks fantastic on you and I think it will photograph great.

Dress one is stunning !!!! And to echo a previous poster, if you feel good you look great !! Both are gorgeous on you but the softness of number one is exquisite in my opinion

I was expecting two dramatically different styles, but they are so similar, go with the one that makes you feel amazing! Remember, the final dress will be altered to fit you perfectly, and a professional photographer will make everyone (especially you!) look amazing in the wedding day photographs.

Once I figured out that they were indeed two different dresses, I actually think dress one looks better in the photos. I’m also really big on how your dress makes you feel. If you feel amazing in a dress – like a princess and super special- that’s your dress.

Dress 1 all the way! It looks beautiful on you, looks great in photos and most of all you feel amazing in it.
