- Wedding: March 2017
Some of you already know I bought a dress for my September 2017 wedding from two other threads. I thought it would be fun to post the dresses that didn’t make it to the top of my list. There’s still a handful of dresses that I have no pics of because it either wasn’t appropriate for the venue or looked strange on my body. I wanted a dress that was comfortable (priority!!), elegant, romantic, flowy, and flattering on my short (5’2) and straight body.
Watters Azriel- I knew it was over budget, but loved it on the model so much that I had to try it on. It was underwhelming on me.
Willowby Caracas- Love the lace and side cut-outs, and the back feature! The bottom is also very simple and elegant, which I like. Not in love though.
Willowby Penelope- Went into the store thinking I would buy this one, but just like Azriel, it didn’t “wow” me when I put it on. I do like this one more than Azriel, the skirt is softer and has less layers.
Willowby Marseille- Most of you already know the story about this one (see here). Looking at it with fresh eyes and knowing what I really want now, this just doesn’t fit with my personality or what I envisioned. It’s absolutely stunning, but this isn’t “me”.
Nicole Miller- Simply elegant. My sister pulled this one because it was more her style so I figured why not? My mother really liked this one especially the cowl neck in the back. Not really fitting an outdoor ceremony under a big tree though.
Casablanca beaded empire (strapless and with mesh straps)- Okay this one was just for funsies! The beaded bodice was so heavy and I look pregnant!
Casablanca 3D floral- Another for funsies. The 3D florals on the bodice is also beaded and looked really pretty on the rack. Until I put it on. My least favorite out of the bunch. At this point, I realized the flowy skirts were doing nothing for my figure.
Pronovias Tamira- Another fun one. The only ball gown I tried. It’s beautiful as can be but it confirmed that ball gowns are not for me.
I also tried on a handful of pretty dresses from Alvina Valenta’s Ti Adora collection in this thread if you want to see more. My top favorites are in there. Out of all the designers/brands I tried, Ti Adora is my favorite in terms of comfort, laid back style, and price point.
