The morning after I got engaged, I nearly walked into someone at work (coming around a corner, I must admit) because I was staring at my ring 😛

I was on the downlow because most of my friends/coworkers frown upon girls showing their rings when they are engaged. In fact, I used to roll my eyes at it too, hehe. But now I have developped a love of rings and an interest in mariage and weddings 😉

I don’t show off my ring irl but wear it with so much joy. I come on the bee to post shamelessly, so thank you for allowing me an outlet 😉

I think it’s fine to show off your ring once or twice on Facebook, but anymore and you start to come across as really insecure.

I know a girl who has posted at least ten pictures with the Beyonce “hand up” pose. She’s also posted about five “engagement celebrations” and has changed her profile picture several times, alternating between several “hand up” shots.

At the end of the day, I start to feel less happy for her and more sorry for her. I actually love seeing ring pictures because I’m curious, but there’s definitely an upper limit on the number of ring pictures you should post on Facebook.

I take a low down approach.  I have not posted a pic of my ring anywhere (not even on the bee) even though I love it.  I know that people can feel really sensitive if they aren’t engaged and they want to be, or if my ring is bigger than theirs, and I really don’t want to be the type to stir up those kinds of emotions.  If someone asks to see my ring I’ll show it, but I ignored all the requests to post a pic on facebook.  Honestly, I don’t want all my various contacts to see a picture of my ring – it’s so voyeristic.

But that said, it doens’t bother me when other people do this.  The above is just my personality.  if your personality is more open, that’s great!  Just be who you are.  If your approaching it with an open heart I’m sure people will recieve your excitement the right way.

Down low for me. I HATE being the center of attention.
