haha i did something similar- I printed out a head-on picture of the ring I want and cut it out to see how it would look on lol.

I have a stash of diamond size cutouts hidden in my school stuff (where Fiance never looks) so I can play with them. I’ll likely end up with a 1ct solitaire but that won’t stop me from putting the 3ct cutout over my placeholder ring just to see.
