For the first week or so it felt irritating or “itchy” if I would wear it for more than a few hours (just was not used to wearing a ring on that finger) but now I don’t feel anything when it’s on and my finger feels “throbby” when it’s off, like something’s missing. It’s weird how my brain accomodated for the sensation as normal or something. It’s what I was hoping for, I always loved the romantic symbolism of the engagment ring (and especially the wedding ring) as becoming like “a part of me.” It’s just the right size for my finger (doesn’t squeeze or spin at all, normally), so it’s easy to get used to.

Anyway, when I’m stressed, little things that I normally don’t notice at all, like a quiet but slightly annoying sound, become very obvious to me… anything that could potentially be irritating will start to irritate me. So it makes sense that you would notice the sensations of your jewelry more. I’m sure I’ve kicked off my shoes when I’ve been stressed because I suddenly felt like they were cramping my toes or making my feet sweat or whatever. You may be tempted to try to read into it that you are maybe actually angry at your FI/spouse, and maybe that’s true, but on the other hand, it could just be a normal increase in irritability… especially if your ring doesn’t fit quite right, or has a sharp edge or something.

Hot, sweaty, just washed my hands, annoyed, upset… ring annoyance.  Otherwise it’s like “I’m wearing rings?”.

Sometimes I’m just convinced humans are strange creatures :).

Yeah, when it’s hot and my fingers are swollen. Or when I’ve been drinking…because my fingers also swell.

I notice it more when my fingers get swollen in the heat but otherwise I don’t notice it. But when it is not on I certainly notice, I keep rubbing my empty finger, it feels weird not having a ring on.

I notice mine a lot because I type frequently and it is a heavy, platinum 3-stone. but it’s very comfortable so I rarely notice it for that reason, just the weight of it is noticeable.
