you do not look even close to 40!!! that being said.. your back is totally normal looking and i think you look awesome without the bolero!!! if it makes you more comfortable then wear it, but you definitely don’t NEED to. you look perfect! and your dress is soo pretty

You look GREAT and also I would never have guessed you were 40!  Your back looks fine…I would not get the bolero and go without! The fur one would be cute outdoors though since it’s winter.  But otherwise, go without! Smile

I’m sorry but I couldn’t get past “I’m over 40” are you kidding me?! I thought you were like a young 20 something bride standing in your parents house (from the kids rooms in the back!)

I think the bolero is a cute photo opp for the winter wedding and I love it it looks so cute!  You DEF DO NOT NEED it though!  Maybe you could have it for pics, maybe even the ceremony? Then def can toss it off to party!

Wow, still not over the fact that you’re 40 and not 22!

I am extremely self conscious about my broad back too. I think you look beautiful but I understand, thats why I chose to get a veil

First of all, I can’t believe you are 40 but will not ask that you post any identification to prove it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Second of all, I just wanted to note that you look absolutely gorgeous in that dress. I, personally, like the look of something bridging the gap between dress and neck, but that is because I have a very long torso. Lol. That being said, I would prefer something a bit more fitted like a lace or organza bolero. I posted a few examples of what I mean. Best of luck with your decision!

You look beautiful! Focus on doing some back workouts to target that area in what little time you have left. Not saying you need to, but I bet a tiny increase in underlying muscle tone would tighten things up enough to boost your confidence. You really do look years younger than you are!!

@mel801:  HOW ARE YOU OVER 40??? Did you just stop ageing at 24? Do you bath in sunscreen or something?

I have no help to offer about your bolero issue, I’m to busy being angry that I look older then you

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I really like boleros. I think they’re elegant regardless of your age (but you do NOT look over 40!!!) and I really like your fur one. If you want one, a lace or chiffon one would be lovely and make you look really pretty.

ummmm…..you’re over 40?! you look amazing! so beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚ pick whichever will make you feel comfortable and confident. you do NOT want to be thinking about your back while up at the altar! if the bolero is going to let you be less stressed, do it.

im going to be 100% Honest with you.

1) you do not look over 40!

2) your house is pristine!

3) i completely understand why you might feel you have ‘back fat’ as you describe it. (which you dont for the record) however my mother is always going on about the way as she has matured the skin on her back appears more ‘elastic’ so to speak than when she was in her 20’s. What you are seeing is the natural crease in your back and to everybody else does not look bad at all. but to you all you see is ‘back fat’  just like my mother does.

You want to not only look stunning on your wedding day (which you will regardless) but feel stunning too. I feel that if you need to ask for reasurance you will not be completely happy unless wearing some kind of cover up.

I say wear the bolero. Personally i love them-maybe a lace one however.

Not sure if anyone else said this but, have someone stick their fingers in the top of your dress in the muddle of your back and run their fingers around under your arm pits all around the back of dress. This flattens out dress, the dress is what causes skin to bunch making you think it’s back fat, trust me!!!! You will see difference, a wonderful seamstress told me this at my sisters dress fitting and it works on everyone!
