- Wedding: May 2011
This is officially my first wedding blog, I think? So, to start, let me explain how we even got to this point. My juicebox and I began dating back in november of ’09. We’d known each other for at least 4 years before that and were the clique best friends, inseparable friends that everyone always assumed were dating. Once we were officially together, we decided to take a plan a vacation to Cabo, Mexico. He’d never been and I’m always up for traveling to beautiful places! (mind you, we planned the trip back in november!) When we booked we planned a romantic sunset dinner on the beach, which happened to fall on April 1st…no joke! So at the end of our beautiful, delicious 5 course gourmet dinner, mr. juicebox wanted to give me my birthday present. He said before he’d give it to me though, I’d have to make promises that I’d take care of it, I’d love it, that I’d never take it off, that I’d promise to love him for a really long time…….and then he asked me to marry him!! Such a great night, completely romantic and it had every aspect of “us” in it.
So, we’ve been engaged for just over a month now and the planning has been moving RIGHT along. First, we booked our church (the one I’d grown up in) and priest. Then, actually the same night we confirmed our priest, we visited a reception venue and fell in LOVE. Three days later, we’d booked the venue. Next, we needed to get a photographer…check. done. Met him one night after a couple of phone conversations and absolutely loved him right off the bat. Oh, did I mention that along with our venue came caterer (they run the reception venue), cake baker (we just have to go pick it out), tables, linens, and china? Such a sweet deal too. Now all that’s left on our list is DJ, florist, and dresses.
Is it weird that I’m not in a huge rush to get a dress? I want to enjoy this just a little longer…looking at dresses, wondering which one will be perfect for me. Everything has gone so easily and quickly that I want to savor the moment. I’ve been pouring over centerpieces and trying to think of other things to come up with.
I really love reading all the different blogs. Its fun to hear what everyone is up to…
