(Closed) The gap between e-ring and band…does it bother you?

I couldn’t handle a gap. When Fiance asked what I liked before we got engaged I specifically said I would want a band that sits flush to the e-ring. Part of this stems from the fact that I have small, chubby fingers and anything thick hurts my hands, so I am aiming for the bands to be as tiny as possible – and flush is the best way to do that.

I do like gaps! My set is not a matching set so at times it has a gap.

Totally depends on the ring. I don’t mind gaps on a solitare with no diamonds on the band but when there are side diamonds, I am all for completely matching and flush. I’m a bit anal like that.

I have a 1.5mm white gold band, really skinny and flat. We got the band thinking there would be a bit of a gap, given the shape of my engagement ring, but because the band is so flat and thin it actually slips under the curved part of my engagement ring so it ends up looking flush, just not in the way most people consider “proper” (and yes, I’ve had comments from a jeweler and at least two fussy women about what’s considered proper).

New2moissanite:  I tried a curved band that sat flush against my engagement ring but I was constantly correcting it to make sure it was aligned. I didn’t want to get them soldered together so I ended up returning it for a straight band now I have the gap that I don’t mind. Plus I like that I can now wear them separately, if I kept the curved one I wouldn’t be able to wear it on it’s own if I needed to.

I don’t care for a gap much, and I was lucky enough to find a band that fit perfectly! It’s all about what you like!

I have a gap due to the shape of my band…I kind of love it!

I like gaps when it is purposeful (like split-shank rings), but I think they look better, in general, when they fit together snugly. I am going to have mine soldered together after the wedding.

Gap! Although I couldn’t handle a huge gap!

I have a small gap even though the band is the one the jeweller designed for the ering. I wouldn’t want a larger gap.
