We had such an incredible weekend at Garden Pavilion. Everything was perfect and it was so great to have the venue all weekend long. It really allowed us to enjoy the whole experience in a relaxed environment. We worked with an amazing wedding planner who I would highly recommend. She created a great repoire with Elisabeth which I think helped us out greatly. She came on two site visits with us and of course was there for the entire day. She is so sweet and has such a calming demeanor. She really led us to believe our wedding went off without a hitch, even though I know there had to have been some behind the scenes scrambles. But we never knew! Her name is Jeanne Marquis, here’s her website. Plus, she’s totally affordable and will work with your budget. I can’t recommend her enough!

I’m happy to answer any questions anyone may have about the venue. The GP was everything we wanted and more. Seriously, our wedding was a dream come true.

I just wanted to say that my wedding at the Garden Pavilion was wonderful!  I would definately promote the venue.  The following are the vendors I used:

All vendors did a fantastic job!  I got great feedback about my cake bar featuring Susie Cakes.  I loved the food, Michael’s did a great job, and Michael himself was there to help.  Great Job!  Patty Steinberg came with Michael’s Catering, her day-of fee was not included.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to get a day-of coordinator.  Patty was wonderful, and everything ran so smoothly.  I did have a problem with Hair/Make-up, one of the artists was late and caused a bit of stress.  Even so, I really loved all my vendors, you couldn’t go wrong.

To help plan, I thought I would share the venue layout form that I made.  It was great b/c you could play around with set-up.  I am also including my timeline b/c all my vendors loved knowing the general timeline and layout.  It helped answer a lot of questions and revealed some holes.

Has anyone else had a wedding here lately? Would love to hear about it. Will be getting married there next October (glad I decided a few months ago — I spoke with Elisabeth today and they’re pretty much fully booked for 2014 already, she said!) and love hearing from all of you who have used the venue. This thread has been enormously helpful.

One question I have: Did anyone use a relatively large band? If so, where did you put them? I get the sense the place is a little better-suited for a DJ just given the layout, but would be interested to hear people’s thoughts.

@ladylarry:  I’m getting married there in 2 weeks (crazy…) and we are having a 7-person band. They will be playing in the pavilion. There’s a 20′ x 14′ nook that they will play in. The only other place a band or dj could set up is at the end of the pavilion on the stage. We are eating on the lawn and doing cocktail hour/dancing in the pavilion, so we are just using the entire pavilion as a dance floor. Hope this is helpful! I can tell you how it goes for us in a few weeks.

 

Does anyone else have any last minute tips or tricks?

@karen415: Thanks for the info Karen, can’t wait to hear how it goes. I’d love to do dinner on the lawn — just saw a photo album of a recent wedding there, and that’s how they had it — it was lovely. And so nice to have the whole pavilion for dancing! Hope you have a blast.

Ladylarry, I had a six-person band (“No Regrets”) playing in the same space that I think karen415 is describing (the little nook that faces the lawn), and it worked perfectly.  I don’t know how big of a band you are considering, but I think the space could definitely fit a few more people – maybe 10?  I am a big proponent of having live music, it creates such a fun atmosphere, and I was told by some of my guests that it was the “best dancing wedding ever!”  I also did dinner on the lawn and in the pavilion we had dancing, dessert, the photobooth, the guestbook table, and the photo display table.  I think it was a really great setup.

Karen415, you must be getting so excited! Last minute tips…hire a day-of-coordinator, if you haven’t already (I wish I’d done this – I’m bad at delegating, and it would have been absolutely worth the cost to have someone there to take care of the details), take your time with the day-of photos (I was so focused on getting back to the guests that I short-changed some of the shots I’d wanted to get), and assign a bridesmaid to fix your hair/makeup periodically through the day/night.  And just try to really experience every moment, because the whole day will seem like it’s going in fast-forward!

I got married at Garden Pavilion in July and it was great. I highly recommend it. I also recommend my florist who was really affordable and my flowers were beyond beautiful. I used Vanda Florist in Petaluma. Here is my short video for anyone who wants to see some clips of the venue.

Hello Ladies,

 

I am planning to get married this year. we are still shopping around for venues. We are seriously considering Garden Pavillion. We are planning to stay there as well as use it as venue. We are really not interested to spend more on catering. Do you guys have any good but cheap catering options as well as DJ and photographer. Al the costs are stacking up we want to get it done more on the conservative side rather than breaking the bank. Look forward to the suggestions. Thanks !
