If I found the right dress, it looks a lot like Bill Levkoff 165 and 790 (same dress, different fabrics). The 790 was about $200, but we got a discount because I bought my dress from the same place. I think you can get it from places like netbride and best bridal prices for around $165. The 165 comes in ivory.

I got discounts by calling around different boutiques and I ended up finding a place that gave me a discount for a) Ordering more than 5, b) paying upfront in cash. I bought all the dresses and had my BMs pay me back. I ended up getting 20% off the dresses for my BMs. You may also be able to find places that will give deals like built in tailoring or something along those lines.

Also, for the record, $350 sounds really steep to me. Everyone has different budgets and such, but for me, and my BMs that would be too high.

@atlbride2013:  Be careful about sites that are so much less expensive. I can almost guaranteee they are replica sites. Your dress will not be anywhere near the same quality.

Having said that, I don’t think bridesmaid dresses need to be the best quality. Many are never worn again. $350 would be out of the question for me. There are lots of empire waisted chiffon dresses out there.

House of Brides is definitely not a replica site. I went to one of their B+M stores in the Chicago area. Net bride and RK Bridals are also not replica sites.

If they’re okay with spending it, and they all agree that dress is do-able for them, I would just get it!

@BrandNewBride:  +1.

@atlbride2013:     Sounds like they chose it and are perfectly capable of reading a price tag.  Save yourself a headache and go with their choice!

My bridesmaids also chose silk chiffon dresses that were pretty ridiculously priced. 3 of them ended up finding their dress brand new on eBay for less than $100 (would have been $250 otherwise). They were all willing to pay full price, but I obviously felt super guilty about it so I was on eBay every single day looking for them.

I know there’s no guarantee they’ll all be able to find them, but it’s worth a shot. Right now there are a few listings for the dress in size 14 for $99.

Yeah, I’m in the same boat albeit ours aren’t as expensive ($285 – Jenny Yoo). We were able to purchase them at Nordstrom which allowed the girls to get triple points and free alterations so I Felt that helped to lessen the blow.  Althought, they did all say they had budgeted about $300 for dresses.

@atlbride2013:  We went with Jasmine Belsoie as bridesmaids dresses and I was very pleased with their quality. They also had a lot of variety when we looked in the salon. The dresses were 170, except for one was a bit more but I helped pay for it. I wouldn’t feel comfortable asking my bridesmaids to pay more than 200 on a dress. I would offer to pay for the cost over 200 bucks especially if they are paying for travel expenses. Here is a link to their website http://www.jasminebridal.com/ugC_Home.asp#
