I’ve had both, and I’m really more of a comforter girl tbh.  We have a duvet cover on our bed right now, and it frustrates the F out of me.  I even stitched the corners of the down comforter to the corners of the duvet cover, and it STILL slides around and gets bunched up in weird areas.  And the duvet cover’s buttons popped off and now half of the duvet is wide open.  I know its an “easy” fix, but the last thing you want is your bed area to be difficult.

I’d rather just make a cover I could stich onto my down comforter and call it done.  Easier to shake out and not have it bunch up all over the place.  Or just get a comforter in a color I actually like.

MrsMellyBean :  Theoretically it’s because the duvet cover is washable vs old fashioned bedspreads. I still use a top sheet too because I like it that way.
