I sometimes feel like I’m a bridal anomaly. I didn’t get all teary eyed the first time I tried on dresses. I didn’t have any moment where I felt like “oh, yay, I’m really getting married!”
What I felt was annoyed, because everything I tried on was SO poofy or overwhelming on me (I’m really short), and by the time I found a dress in a shape that I liked, they were practically shoving me out the door so they could get to the next appointment.
Don’t get me wrong. I loved that one dress. Maid/Matron of Honor loved that one dress. That dress, btw, is Maggie Sottero style Rhianna Royale in Light Gold. It’s pretty. It’s figure flattering. It’s covered in 3D flowers.
But I had it on for 5 mintues. I wasn’t allowed to take pictures. I didn’t have a teary eyed moment. How can I be SURE it’s my dress?
Since then, I’ve tried on a lot of other dresses, and nothing impressed me much. So, why not just buy the Maggie and be done with it, you ask?
They sold the sample. There was ONE sample in the entire state of Indiana (I am not joking. That really was the only sample in the state) and they sold it. They won’t be getting a new one until November.
*Cue frustrated noises*
So here I am, not even entirely sure that it’s “the one”, planning a trip out of state to try it on again. At least the place I’m going lets you take pictures?
If I don’t find my dress, any dress, on this trip I am going to be really, really upset, ladies.
I want this drama to be over so I can move on to other things!
Did anybody else have this much trouble finding a dress?
