I’ve been shopping since June, but I finally picked my dress! I figure I’d share some of my favorites through the process and the one.
During my first shopping trip, I fell in love with this dress. Overall, it ended up being my No. 2 favorite. I knew I wanted something with a dramatic skirt, but I didn’t want a natural waist because I wanted to show my curves, so I was looking for either a mermaid or dropped-waist dress.
The mermaid part was so fun and full with beautiful blush beading throughout the skirt. As much as I loved it, I wanted a little more punch from the skirt.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a good picture of the dress from the front with everything together, so here it is on the model.
Then I found another dress I liked. My best friend and maid of honor teared up when she saw me in it, so I knew it was a contender.
As I kept searching, I found yet another dress that became a finalist. The store only had a sample in pink, which I liked, but my dad would have a heart attack if I wore a pink wedding dress. I loved the fullness of the skirt. Very fun.
But then I tried on the dress, and I knew it was the one. It’s Amsale’s Bijou, which is now my second love. The dress has everything I want: drama, texture and fullness while still flattering my curves. The store doesn’t use clips, so the sales associate held it in the back. It’s not exactly even because of that, but you get the picture. I’m getting it in the cafe color, which is a little darker. The cafe shade gives the rosettes a little more depth.
Thoughts? I’d like to add a sash right under the bust, just to give it a little something on the top. Jewelry? Veil? Any overall ideas? Ahh! I’m so glad I finally found the dress. I have to admit that I’ll kind of miss dress shopping, though. Playing dress up was so fun!
