I am proud of my ring and my Fiance… I was happy to post a major life changing event on MY facebook, isnt that the point? If someone doesnt like it they can unsubscribe or unfriend me.

I love seeing ring pics! The only time when it gets annoying is when there are a TON of pictures of just the ring. That seems a little too much to me.

@gsu02olliff:  I can safely say that I have never seen any guy post a picture of his shoes, watches or guns.

@VickyAurea:  I see shoes and guns, but never watches. Maybe it’s a regional thing?

@SFrunner:  I didn’t post a pic because I didn’t want people judging me based on my ring. But when other people get engaged, I always look for a ring pic. So that I can judge them. Just kidding … kind of.

HAHAHAHA!!!!!  I don’t think ‘judge’ is the right term, I do that too.  I’m just curious.

I’m in the who cares camp.  If you are in the opposite camp and you don’t like it, you can scroll right past the photos!

I don’t mind people posting their ring pics, but I didn’t do it. I did send a pic to all my closest friends though on their phones. I also eventually uploaded a pic of the ring onto facebook that was only visible by my one cousin that didn’t have a phone b/c I wasn’t going to see her for a long time. I don’t really count that though.

No, I did not post it to facebook.  I don’t mind when other people do because I’m a facebook creeper and like to see people’s rings, but I think it’s tacky and did not personally feel comfortable doing it.  Not even sure why I don’t mind when other people do it but felt tacky to do it myself.  I just texted pictures to anyone who asked to see it.

I didn’t post mine because it felt a little self important to me…then again, I always look for a ring pic when I find out someone’s engaged, so I guess I’m a little bit of a hypocrit! Really, I don’t care either way.

@les105: I have the same feeling. I’m always happy to see when someone else does but I feel weird about it myself. I’ve really only had 1 friend post a ring pic and no one ever posts cars or watches or anything! So I think it’s not really appropriate for my social circle.

I live abroad and am even feeling hesitant about EMAILING a pic of it when I announce that we’re engaged because I dont want people to think that’s the focus of it.

When my ring was made, I sent it to a close friend and she was like, “it’s beautiful but I’m sorry, I dont really care about rings” – then she proceded to forget that I showed it to her and said AGAIN that she just doesn’t care about rings. apparently her views are that it is a waste of money and an “ownership” thing which is in conflict w her feminist perspective. It really hurt my feelings now that I think about it.

@CaptainKH:  I should hope it’s regional, yeah, because guns are very much illegal here.

@nushka:  Why would that hurt your feelings? It doesn’t affected you. It’s her perspective. You have your own. She already complimented you on the ring AND she is being totally open and honest about not even being fussed by them – I’d say that’s a real friend you have there. You can trust her.
