I feel for you!

My Fiance once made me climb a mountain – and I thought we were going for a nice hike up a hill to have a picnic.

Granted, it was mainly his friends’ fault for not saying that the plans had been changed before we were in the car with them, but I blame him for not putting a stop to it.

It was horrible and I feared for my life at some points (though that is because I am scared of heights and had never been on a goddamn mountain before more than there being actual danger involved) – and I hadn’t exactly dressed for a 9 hour climb.

I suggest you take revenge. Plan a nice, romantic surprise for him that turns out to be a full day of whatever would traumatise him good and proper (perhaps something that includes waxing), then belittle him when he moans about it.

I made my Fiance sit down for a Twilight saga marathon.

I think both you and your mom is right.

You want to praise  him for taking the initiative, but also make it very clear that you need to know the extent of his plans so you can be well prepared and your expectations are correctly set.  He needs to think things through too. If its his plan, he should think about bringing snacks, sunscreen and making sure you have the right equipment.

But you dont want to discourage him from trying to plan something in the future.

Ahhh I would be so pissed! If he’s going to plan something like that, you would think he would at least bring along proper gear for you. And if you’re planning a “surprise” for someone, isn’t it supposed to be something they like?!?! lol
