You do have a right to be upset; however, it has been done and your Fiance has apologized, so if it were me, I would just let it go.

That sucks. It could be worse though; at least the groom was consulted and your Future Mother-In-Law didn’t just invite them on her own. 😉 My grandmother actually mentioned giving her invitation to a friend that she wanted to invite that wasn’t on the guest list!

I think that you need to work on “this thing in me that’s gonna make me hold on to it for a little while longer.” It will eventually eat you up inside. It is best to learn to pick your battles, and this one, to me, isn’t worth fighting about or holding a grudge.

Oh man, I so hope this doesn’t happen to me. I’m getting ready to send out the Save-The-Date Cards and there’s some unresolved guest list issues (FH and I have it finalized, it’s just communicating to the parents who didn’t make “the cut” that they are expecting to be invited, which, due to circumstances out of my control won’t happen for at least 3 more months). I guess we’ll see if the sh*t hits the fan after the Save-The-Date Cards go out.

Bummer. Almost all of my FI’s extended family live out of the state. I did ask my FI’s Future Father-In-Law if he wanted to invite anybody. He said just invite FI’s aunts and uncles. That the cousins will probably not be able to come. So it’s all good. Me on the other side I’m inviting aunts, uncles and cousins and their children. That’s right lot’s of little children running around.

I am having the same issue. It seems like everyday there is someone new invited to the wedding that I do not know lol I sent my Future Mother-In-Law a list of all of the people on “their side” to get the addresses and when she returned it, it had 7 or 8 additional guests written in! If we have to get down to the nitty gritty, I think that I will just “forget” to invite those people… so mean I know lol You have to do what you have to do… I guarantee she won’t even miss them seeing that she hasn’t seen them in years!! Good luck with you dilemma!

We are getting married in less than 3 months and I was putting the addresses on the invitations last sunday with my Fiance, we got multiple phone calls from his mom and from my mom telling us to take certain people off and put others on. I was sooooooooooooooooooo pissed! How could they do this to us last minute???? We started at 9 a.m. and by 6 pm Fiance wanted to get away for a break…we went to a friends house for a barbeque and didn’t get home till 8:30…….. because of the stress from our moms I was so livid with Fiance we fought and we were meannnnnnnnnn to each other. I ended up stomping off and he had to do the rest himself till 11:30. I wish I would have stood up to our moms and just said they were too late…..they had 9 months to change things but noooooooooooo. My mom had the guts to call me a bridezilla when I told her what she was doing was ridiculous. I hope no one else goes through this nightmare. I’m just sooooo glad the nightmare is over. The invitations are out and there is no going back!!!!

My Fiance and I are argument free from here on out…..Its time to celebrate!!!

Good luck ladies!!!

Eh. If I had a choice I wouldn’t invite them, but my large family has a lot of children so oh well.
