How’s this? Baking SO a red velvet cake for Valentine’s Day, lacing it with sodium pentathol, and buying those heart shaped candies with all the words on them, picking out all the ones that say ‘Marry Me’ on them, and adorning the top of the cake with them. All while shining a giant spotlight directly on his face when he’s eating it, a la interrogation style. Would that be crazy? Tongue out

@eloping: That was a wee bit harsh I think.

@stateline: I really like it. I think that some waiting bees will hopefully realize that they need to take a step back and realize that the proposal isn’t everything, even when it’s always on the brain. I understand why some bees are saying to calm down and everything, but I think the end pretty much said that you already were.

It may seem a little extreme, but I waited three years for my ring & I guarantee you I went insane a few times more than I care to admit. I wish I’d read something like this before we got engaged, it definitely puts things into perspective. I really believe it can help some girls that are going nuts waiting.

This was very well written & well worth the time it took to read! Loved it!

Lol, I haven’t really, but in some of my more hair pulling waiting moments, I may or may not have had this image floating in and out of my brain 🙂

Very well written. I really enjoyed it, and I’m glad your SO did as well.  That’s all that matters right? 🙂

PS: Baby Beluga was my jam when I was little!

I loved the post and I thought it was great it didn’t come off as crazy to me at all.  It  helps to put things into perspective.  I can’t wait to read your engaged post sometime this year.  You have a great SO.

I really enjoyed reading your post! I’m no longer waiting but that would have been great for me about 2 months ago!! I didn’t think you sounded crazy at all !

I loved your post!  I didn’t get the crazy vibe either!

To be honest, I laughed at the beginning and nearly cried at the end (ok. . .maybe it’s just PMS, but still!).

Sounds like you’ve really got a keeper!  Hang in there, and don’t drive him too nuts.  A lot of guys really want to make the proposal special.  I wouldn’t be surpried if he throws you off and surprises you when you least expect it.
