Hey guys. I know I said that my bf seemed to have something up his sleeve and I was expecting a proposal on Saturday at Longwood Gardens. Well, you all know by now that we’re planning on getting hit by hurricane Irene on Saturday….so now our re-anniversary plans are shot.
I was pretty much in devastation land so I didn’t say anything here. But my bf just texted me, and he’s asking if I want to go out tonight instead-since we’ll be cooped up all weekend with the hurricane at our door.
And, again, he’s planning all of this (so weird for him) and he wants to go to a movie theater and a restaurant where we went on our first dinner date…on the university campus where we met in Philadelphia.
Uh, we live in Jersey now (just over the BF bridge, but still)-so why are we going to the city for dinner and a movie? We could do that a lot closer to home.
So I’m thinking that hurricane Irene just pushed my proposal to TONIGHT!!!

shouldn’t it be a surprise? I don’t get this at all. what is the fun of knowing it?

Agreed. Just chill, it’ll happen when it’s supposed to – and you never know, you might actually like it better when it’s a surprise 😉

It’s exciting whether its a surprise or not. And most bees on the boards had a feeling about their proposals before it happened too. I’m kind of confused about the raining on my parade. but thanks for your comments i guess

Rather than being negative and telling you you should not expect a proposal or to be excited about the possibility (Because I knew every detail of mine and it was still beyond perfect) I am going to actually be excited with you! Because you have every reason and right to be excited! No matter how much or little you know! I can’t wait to hear all about it tomorrow! And if it doesn’t end up happening tonight? You will get to look back on this crazy romantic anniversary with the man you will soon marry anyway! I am happy to see something possibly good coming out of this hurricane!!! So, can I do the excited jumpy dance with you now?

Ohhhhh good luck!! Keep us posted!! 🙂

Yay!!! At least something good is coming out of the hurricane that seems to be ruining everyone’s weekend plans haha. We’ll be waiting for updates! Fingers crossed for you 🙂

I don’t care what the others say, YAY if it’s tonight I can’t wait to hear about it. If not I’ll pray it happens for you soon. I totally know what it’s like to wait (I’m in that position). Either way good luck we “bee” happy for you!

I will say one thing. Proposals are like birthdays or christmas. Even if you know what you’re getting and know when it’s coming, you’re still super excited. It’s that shaking the box to figure out what’s in it excitement. Be excited. And if it doesn’t happen, hope you have a wonderful date and I’m sure it’ll happen when it’s supposed to. Have fun! Let us know if anything exciting happens. 🙂

As awesome as it is that it sounds like your proposal is around the corner, your bf should probably do a little more research. The roads are going to be INSANE tonight because of all of the mandatory evacuations.
He needs to scrap the sentimental stuff and just do it!!! For your safety, of course..

I can’t believe how negative some of the bees are lately when somebody shares good news!?
Congrats on the progress, keep us posted and all I can say is don’t be too hard on those negative bees – we are getting agitated with all this waiting!
We would KILL to know when our SOs will propose.. which is probably why you didnt get the positive vibes you were hoping for at first!

No, “devestation land:” would be if your home and all your belongings and loved ones were taken out by the hurricane.
IF your Fiance is ready to propose, he wants it done the way he plans in his mind, hopefully you can relax and let that happen.
But I must say, I can’t think of anything cooler or more memorable than being proposed to during a hurricane! ‘Cept maybe a tornado 🙂

It would certainly be a “whirlwind” engagement… HAHA!
