@jaguar:  (((Hugs))) I’m so sorry. I can only imagine how you are feeling right now. Are you sure the tests are just not showing positive, yet? Darn it. I was so hopeful for you…I’m so sorry.

@wifegoodman:  Yep! I’ll still be here, for sure. Just hope that financially & emotionally we’ll be ready sooner rather than later. I’ve already spent enough time waiting. πŸ™

Hi all,

I’ll be posting this across here & 6-month, so apologies if you see a double up here or there. Had my follow up RE visit today to discuss the failed IVF#1.

She was really good & gave me lots of feedback and changes for next time around.

*I’ll be on another long down-reg cycle, because it apparently promotes better quality eggs.
*My stimming drugs will go from 125 Puregon (low doses which led to plateaued estrogen levels) will be increased. 175/150 this time around.
*I had 5 eggs retrieved – but only 3 were mature enough to fertilise. 2 of those DID fertilise. Meaning that they don’t think I’ll need ICSI yet.
*As well as Crinone, next time around I’ll be on progesterone pessaries AS WELL. (Oh joy!)

She seems to think I’ll respond well with a higher dose & really hopes to get more eggs next time around, to get some day 5 blastocysts. We’ll see.

Anyway, as much as I wish all that would happen NOW NOW NOW, it’s going to be a long and boring wait until the end of June, or whenever I get my next period. *sigh*

Who knows? Maybe we’ll get lucky on our month off?? πŸ™‚

@jaguar:  Sounds like a good, informative appointment. We are meeting with the RE on Tuesday.

I called the office yesterday to see if they knew what our schedule would be because we are trying to plan a trip in July. They are changing my protocol to “patch antagonist” we’ll start after my period in June and should plan on 1.5-2 months for the whole cycle!! so no trip in July πŸ™ Does anyone know anything about this sort of protocol? I’m trying to gather lots of info so I can ask as many questions as I can on Tuesday. THANKS!!

@bradybride:  Good to hear from you. I’m been thinking of you these last few weeks. ((Hugs))  I was on the antagonist protocol, but not with patches. We just skipped the lupron and then I did just Bravelle and added in the Ganirelex the last few days of stims to prevent ovulation. It worked very well for me because even with super low ovarian reserve I had 13 eggs retrieved. Good luck. I’m so excited for your next cycle!

@bradybride:  It sounds like they will have you on the estrogen patch while on the antagonist protocol.  I know some RE will use the patch or pills.

@jaguar:  Fingers and toes crossed.  Hopefully this off month will be your month.

Well, my hysterscopy was painful but everything looks wonderful.  Next AF, I have to call to make day 2 appt and so begins the process.  Excited and scared.  Hope my AFC count is still high.

@squeak35:  I’m so glad the hysteroscopy results are good! Sorry it was painful. πŸ™  I hated the one I had, too. But now you are ready to rock and roll! Yay! I hadn’t read that you had a high AFC. What was the number? That is great news!!!!!

@Jenn23:  It was cool to see the uterine cavity.  I actually got to see my RE cut away some newly forming scar tissue.   But my cervix is tired.  It doesn’t want anymore probing.:(

My last AFC count I had over 15qty.  My lining was 9mm except for some places around the scarring.  I’m hoping my AFC count is still high and my lining is nice and thick.  Praying there hasn’t been a decline.

@bradybride:  I wish I was doing that cycle – it saves a lot of time. The long down one with birth control & then Lucrin takes forever. πŸ™

@jaguar: I feel like my appointment can’t come fast, I have so many questions!! I’ve been researching this protocol and can’t find much on it. My nurse told me it’s a long one, 1.5-2 months, but I haven’t seen anything indicating this. Do you have any good questions that I should be sure to ask?

Also, I’m sitting here waiting to ovulate! I’ve had highs on the CBFM since day 5…it’s day 14 now. It feels like it’s going to happen soon. If it doesn’t happen by Tuesday when we see the RE, I guess I’ll have some more questions.
