@nicolebug:  Your remembrance necklace is truly beautiful. Sadly we’ve shared similar experiences, and I agree wholeheartedly with your advice to PPs. We shouldn’t have to go through this much grief before being taken seriously, so knowledge is power.

@almajele:  Thanks, that’s helpful. It definitely makes me feel less like I “should” be pregnant right now, when I focus on myself and doing what works for me rather than optimizing my uterus. ๐Ÿ™‚

@almajele:  OK thanks…yes unfortunately I do only have my GP.  I think it’s very uncommon in Canada to go to an OB for a regular pregnancy…it’s either your regular doctor or a midwife if you hire one separately.  But my doctor is very good with maternity – she runs her regular practice which I am a patient in and also a high-risk maternity clinic in another city.

Part of me wants to get tested asap and frequently, but part of me really wants to not even go to the doctor until I’m 6 weeks in like a normal person, not get tested unless there’s a visible problem.  The testing just caused me so much stress last time.  If I don’t know, I can’t worry about it.  Because there’s not much that can be done unfortnately.  For the progesterone I guess you can take supplements, but not for the hcg!

@jny1179:  Thinking of you and hoping you’re feeling a bit better.

@MademoiselleL:  Thanks lady, I know what you mean, part of me doesn’t want anything done the next time, just wait as long as possible to have any tests or ultrasounds done. I plan to have baseline progesterone testing done before the next pregnancy just to see if it’s within the normal range. If it’s ok then, I might just leave it alone.

I’m feeling so much better. The bleeding has stopped completely and my moods have evened out. I finally have absolutely no symptoms left. I got the call this afternoon that my hCG on Friday afternoon was around 600 so I’m glad to hear it’s dropping quickly. I have to have bloodwork done until it’s down to nothing but I don’t have to go for the next round until sometime next week when I’m on vacation. Hopefully by then it will already be done. For now it’s just back to the gym, back to eating healthy and moving forward.

Status (MC cycle/rest cycle/TTC cycle): Post MC, waiting for my period to show up so the TTC can begin

MC History: First pregnancy, at 11 weeks (Jun 4th) we found out the baby had stopped growing at 8 wks, no heartbeat. Miscarried for 2 weeks, had D&C June 14th to finish the job.

Issues (if any): None known at this time

Action Plan for next TTC cycle (ie Baby Aspirin, progesterone,  etc): MD said he wants to know as soon as possible about the next pregnancy so he can keep tabs on my progesterone and do a very early ultrasound to see what’s going on.

Link to  chart:

Current coping strategies/favorite inspirational  quotes: Lots and lots of tears and ice cream. My husband as been beyond incredible at holding me together when I can feel myself coming apart at the seams.

I haven’t quite read my way through this thread yet, but it is still very hard for me to be on the boards. I just wanted to throw in a quick introduction and my best wishes to everyone here. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ladies – when did you ovulate after your MC? I know all the stats on two weeks after MC, or after hCG has dropped to <5 or whatever, but I want to know when YOU ovulated?? I could have sworn that I ovulated yesterday which seems way too early since I just MC’d a week and a day before and the bleeding didn’t fully stop until Friday. Thoughts? I could just be having leftover MC symptoms but I felt great for a few days and then last night I felt O symptoms like a normal cycle. I guess I’ll find out in two weeks when AF arrives but I was just curious if anyone else had experienced a similar early O.

@BRbee:  I’m so sorry for your loss.  Reading through this thread and also the original TTC after miscarriage thread really helped me.  You’re not alone!

@jny1179:  I was told that I wouldn’t O until my hcg is down to zero, so if yours was still at 600 I wouldn’t think that was possible.  Maybe I was misinformed though!

@MademoiselleL:  My hCG was 600 on Friday at 1pm and I think I o’d late on Monday. I am pretty sure I did ovulate, I have all of the signs that I normally have right after O. So now we wait for AF to arrive! I’m happy to be bouncing back so quickly.

@jny1179:  I don’t know when I O’d but AF arrived exactly 1 month after my heaviest-bleeding miscarriage day (I used misoprostol to induce).

@jny1179:  That’s so awesome – lucky!  My pregnancy tests are still coming out positive unfortunately, I wish that hcg would just drop.  Funny I never thought I would be hoping for a bfn.

Just have to share that I got an early birthday present yesterday…AF!  My cycles are back!  It arrived EXACTLY one month after my miscarriage.  I’m so glad and I feel like I can get back on track now.  I still have to wait out one cycle before TTC, but I’m strangely relieved and feel “back to normal”.  Never thought I’d be so happy to see AF or a BFN haha.

My period was due 8 days ago.  I’ve been “spotting” (brown only on the TP) for those 8 days and not a sign of red blood.  All tests have been negative.

I have no clue what to do at this point.  Is this worth calling the Dr. over or should I just continue waiting for the red?

@MademoiselleL:  Glad that AF came on time and you didn’t have to wait. FX for you!

@KateByDesign:  Sorry to hear things are confusing. The brown and lack of red sounds like a good sign. I would call the doctor, it’s better to find out now than to stay in limbo. Good luck!!

@MademoiselleL:  Woohoo for AF being on time!! Here’s hoping your cycle continues to be back to normal ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

@KateByDesign:  If it’s really stressing you out I would give them a call. Not worth the frustration.
