The Journey of TTC After Miscarriage Part II

So I had my very early first appt with a new obgyn, he was efficient but thorough and is easing my fears with an early ultrasound next week and blood work.  I am now on progesterone suppositories (vaginal – gross) that I have to take every night till 12 weeks.  Anyone else tried this?  Also getting my thyroid checked, he made it soud positive that if that’s whats been causing miscarriage at least its fixable.  This pregnancy feels so different than my other two, I keep forgetting I am pregnant because my symptoms are so mild.  Hopefully that means its a good one.

Darling Husband found this article yesterday, its kind of an interesting take on repeat miscarriages: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19361432.

It talks about how super-fertile women accept embryos that would be rejected by normal-fertile women so they have to miscarry.

Hope you all are doing well, I’ve noticed the board is a bit quiet – should we start a fresh Part III?

@bella128:   I’m okay, thanks :/    The brown spotting has turned into brown bleeding.  I’ve gone from a panty liner to a pad.

I went in for my second draw today so hopefully I’ll know more of what’s going on my tomorrow!

I just got my second blood results back and they are 932!  They almost tripled in 42 hours.

I want to be excited, but am still VERY apprehensive.  The spotting has slowed down (ending around when my period would have).  So that’s good news too.

@KateByDesign:  Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I’ve been pretty silent on the boards because I needed another mental break after my last cycle.  Long story short, after my chemical my cycles were like 60 days long and I was getting depressed about not having many chances to even TTC.  This time around I started taking Vitex to see if it would help shorten things up and oh my, it sure worked quickly!  It took me right back to my normal schedule and we got a bfp at 11dpo.

After losing the last one we are trying to not get too excited just yet.  I had my blood drawn at 12 dpo and the results look good: 44 HcG and my progesterone is at 21.  Before getting results I forced the doctor to give me progesterone supplements just in case since the last time I tested at like 0.5 right when I started to MC. Now I get to decide if I want to keep taking the supplements “just in case.”

It sucks that we can’t be happy about this pregnancy yet and that we are going to try and avoid being attached until we have our ultrasound appointment at the end of the month :/

@Spottts:   Thanks 🙂

The spotting hasn’t stopped.  It’s picked up if anything.  I’ll always have something on my panty liner at the end of the day, and when I wipe.  It’s getting really discouraging.

The only thing I’m relying on now is that my betas were rising after the spotting started.

I have an early ultrasound on Friday.  I should be 5w5d, so I doubt they’ll see much.  But I just want to be sure that everything is in the right place.  If I have to go through methotrexate hell again, I don’t know what I’ll do with myself.

Just caught up on recent posts …

@bella128:  So glad to hear everything is going well … yay to early ultrasound! I hope it will help put some of those worries at ease. I agree it has been pretty quiet, I think it’s time to start a Part III.

@KateByDesign:  Wow those are good numbers … that’s great news !!! I understand what you mean … you want to be excited but don’t want to get your hopes up either. Remember positive thoughts !!! I have a good feeling about this 🙂

@cali_cat:  Congrats on your BFP! It’s totally normal to feel that way. I know for a fact I will feel the same once when Darling Husband and I get our BFP. Like I said to KateByDesign … positive thoughts!

I wish you all have very sticky babies !!!  Please keep us posted.

As for my up-date I did POAS Saturday and Sunday morning – nothing to report BFN’s. I think jny1179 was right, those twinges/cramps I was feeling a week and a half ago were most likely ovulation. On Saturday I started getting these random shooting pains to my right breast. I had to lay down it was so strong.  It stopped after an hour or so but now when I apply any type of pressure around that area it’s very sore. What’s really driving me crazy is that my skin is so oily now. I never suffered from oily skin! Always the complete opposite – dry skin. I have to wash my face constantly. AF still hasn’t shown up however I just hit the 4 week mark this past Saturday … others have mentioned it may take up to 6 weeks for a normal period to return after a MC. Is all this just my hormones gone bananas? I feel like I don’t know what’s going on with my body anymore, it’s driving me crazy!

@KateByDesign:  Keeping FX for you!!! So glad the numbers are rising fast. I hope the spotting stops soon!!

I just got my second TSH levels and it’s at 1.7!! In 6 weeks it went down from 3.8 to 1.7. And Free T4 is normal. I’m really happy with that but wondering how the doc will adjust my meds now. I feel so much better about that. I’m curious to see what my cycle will be like this month, last was so short and weird. I have no idea if I ovulated but had a lot of EWCM right around CD14/15 (last Fridayish) so that’s a good sign. I do think I ovulated early last cycle and that it wasn’t a short LP. We’ll see how this TWW goes. We had fair timing but I don’t have high hopes for a BFP this cycle, but I do feel encouraged about trying harder next time with my lowered TSH. I’m feeling pretty good, starting to lose a little weight, eating healthy and exercising.

@jny1179:  1.7 is great! Congrats!  They’ll probably just keep you at your same dosage and hopefully it will keep you leveled.  Good luck in your TWW!
