I wanted as much advice as I could get on the topic, so I posted my perfume allergy post on The Knot, nearly word for word. The difference in responses were laughable.
You can read it here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/perfume-allergies#axzz2dDLeaRwd but the summary is that due to allergies of my fiance’s dad, we have to stictly limit the amount of perfume at our wedding.
Bees basically said “here’s a few options, but basically do whatever you want.” and “His health is the most important thing.”
Knotties said things more like “seat people with this in mind” and “spread this information ONLY by word of mouth” and other things. They agree that having this information with my invites is a serious breach of etiquette, and that being polite is the most important thing here.
So Bees, thank you for being reasonable, pleasant people who are concerened, but not obsessed, with etiquette. I have seen flaming catfights on The Knot, and I’m so glad I came here instead (this was nothing, and I’m sure you’ve seen some of what I’m referring to).
