Oh man!  I’ve been waiting so long for this to be a post on weddingbee!  I started out on theknot before I found weddingbee and I was one of those posters (yeah, I had wayyy too much time on my hands this summer) that would try to stick up for the girls they were ripping to shreds.  I became THAT girl when I posted about having a cocktail recpetion…lol.

I do still check in with my local board though — it’s really just vendor reviews/ questions b/c there isn’t a well established Kansas City board on weddingbee.

That has to be the understatement of the new decade.  Really?  They’re snarky?  (insert evil, somewhat-snarky giggle here!)

LOLOL I”m dying laughing and Fiance is looking at me like..”what?”

Bridezilla + Bitches = bitchzillas!  That should be the Knot’s new board!  what are they in high school??? I thought that stuff ended in 8th grade!  Someone should send them a memo that being a bitch about nothing is sooo 80’s like their apparant style news flashes!

The way the boards are over on TK kept me from joining in on any of their conversations and the moment I discovered the WB boards I was hooked on how nice, yet honest, everyone here seemed. Great advice with a smile? How could I pass that up! 🙂

I never knew The Knot was like that. Although, I’ve never looked at the blog boards.

But does anyone have any advice on where to create a free wedding wesbite for your guests? I simply went to The Knot, because that’s all I knew.

@lbailey323 : check out mywedding.com for a free wedding website for your guests– that’s what we used, and it worked out really well

I used to lurk over there all the time and then started posting on P&E. Suprisingly they didn’t give me much crap about being new.

Fast forward a few weeks later, I was googling my user name and I found a post where someone was making fun of my proposal story.

There are some things you just don’t do.

Oh my, I thought The Knot’s middle name was “Snarky”…

After one horrible experience with their brides, I shut them out entirely. Boo to them!

Aww I like TK.  It’s just a different vibe completely.  Sometimes it’s nice to see the brutal honesty and lack of filter.  You can learn a lot from it and it can be a fab reality check.

I used Brides.com for our free website.  It has A TON of awesome features and was really easy to use.

And yes, The Nest is just as snarky as The Knot.  Getting preggo doesn’t make you mature, so the same snarky brides become snarky moms.

I can’t stand The Knot.  Everyone uses the excuse “I’m just being honest” but in reality they are just being rude.  You can be honest AND polite.  It happens here all the time!  Most of those girls would NEVER say those things to your face.  They are hiding behind internet anonymity.  They argue for no reason.  The openly mock other members.  Their moderators are a joke.  What exactly do they moderate?  I (like many) found TK before WB, but once I found the Hive there was no going back.  TK is just a HOT MESS!

@headuh That’s so sad and mean… a proposal story should be sacred!

All I have to say is HAIL TO THE HIVE! 🙂

@Habibah14 Thanks! Yea, I was upset that people were laughing at me, so I deleted my account, and my bio. I’m so glad for weddingbee.

I was just reading y’all’s comments and decided to check it out… and I have to agree. I don’t think most of them would fit in over here. I love the hive! Not  only was one girl claiming to have slept with Matthew McCaughnehey (on a board where she should be talking about her future husband, no less) and giving explicit details about his genitals and sexual preferences, I found this:

http://forums.theknot.com/default.aspx?path=http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_etiquette_am-only-one-not-taylor-swift

Anyone who could hate on Taylor Swift so viciously has no soul. She’s America’s Sweetheart! Some of the things they were saying were insane… like feeding her to eels or something. Wow! Those girls are definitely beyond bridezillas.

@MightySapphire – you are absolutely right about everything you said about TK. Not one of those girls (although they probably claim they would) would say any of the bad things to your face.

There is a complete difference between telling the truth and making complete asses out of themselves. They a wannabe bullies who have clearly nothing better to do than mock other people.

I had posted once (on two boards) about a website that scammed me and they turned it into a sexual joke about masturbating and dildos. I was horrified. Noone or any site has ever made me cry. I was so upset.  I was trying to help other brides out since quite a few fell into the same trap I did.  You know what the moderator did? Deleted my post without the sexual comments. Those moderators are a joke! Oh and if you have ever checked some of their signatures, they quote other TK members who had to defend themselves against their “brutal honesty”… Such BS!
