So I’m about to go home from work today (I work at a group home) and I go to get something from my wallet. And I see two of my cards put in over my driver’s license. And then I see my change section unzipped. And then I notice my main debit card with all my money for rent, bills, and wedding stuff is gone. I know, it should have been locked up but I always have it with me and they looked at the cameras and didn’t see anyone go in my purse and they said I might have misplaced it. But I still think someone went through it at some point. Either way, the card is cancelled now and I’m lucky I had cash here to use until the new card comes. It’s just frustrating and tiring in an already tiring week. Why couldn’t they have taken the $5 bill that was in there? I just had to vent.

So sorry, what an awful way to end your work day! I used to be a HS teacher and had my wallet lifted once. Cash taken out, then wallet dumped in another classroom – thankfully didn’t have to cancel my cards. It sucks. Getting a new debit card should be pretty fast. Just remember that you have to update any accounts that have auto-pay using your old card number. I will send positive energy your direction!

They didn’t take the cash but my assumption was that in a hurry they grabbed a card and shoved the rest in hoping it wasn’t noticeable. They still say nobody went in my purse but I just don’t see myself leaving my change zipper open, two cards put into a wrong slot, and leaving my main card out of the wallet. Luckily I didn’t have any auto pay and I can still use my checks and that number to pay bills. I can’t even imagine if this had been right before the wedding or something like Christmas or a vacation.
