I have a wedding soon at The Lighthouse at chelsea piers & have no idea how much tip the Wedding Coordinator. The venue marketer told us they get high tips, something like $900?? Is this true? Afterall, we didnt ask for one, they’re provided it, so I thought it was “included” in the package.
Of course, $900 feel like more like a wage rather than a “tip” on a pricey wedding. Tip is for good work done & not automatically given, so I’m a bit confused.
Despite my reservations about this, what did other couples pay so that I don’t insult our weddding coordinator by givinh way below? When I google search, it says WC should get s tip of around $200. Thanks!!

We just had our wedding last weekend at another Abigail Kirsch venue (NYBG) and we tipped 5% of the food and beverage bill (so 5% of the total minus tax and the administrative fee) and, as another bee said in a previous thread, it was worth every penny. The sales managers say to tip between 3-5% of the total food and bev. We also gave a $200 tip to our personal waiter/attendant who was with us the entire day (including making me laugh while I was waiting to walk down the aisle so I wasn’t nervous). Our event coordinator made the day go by so perfectly–you won’t know until you get there and you realize how much they do. Another bee explained that you will want to give them that much and more based on how much they do for you and she was right. We had an incredible experience. AK does it right! They made everything perfect for us 🙂
Good luck and congratulations!
