I read the book recently and absolutely loved it. I’m actually hesitant to see the movie, for fear that it will detract from the book. I just remember reading the first sentence, and it was like someone kicked me in the stomach. I don’t know if the movie can match that.

I am dying to see this movie!  I loved the book soo much, which is my only hesitancy, but it’s been a while since I read it so maybe it won’t bother me so much if it’s not quite as good.

The book totally creeped me out. I guess I just didn’t enjoy it but was fully expecting it to b/c i love crime type stuff like this and the whole father having to know who did this and stuff.

Looooved the book, so I don’t want to see the movie. I’m sure it’ll ruin it for me. As soon as I found out they changed the ending of My Sister’s Keeper from the book ending, I decided I wasn’t watching it. I heard this movie is off from the book too. That bothers me. :/

I’m really hesitant to see it, since I really loved the book and read it shortly after a profound loss in my family. I just don’t know… I really like Rachel Weisz, but Marky Mark??? I can already see it in trailers turning into a vehicle for him, but I don’t know!

White Oleander was another phenomenal book that was a huge letdown when made into a movie. It was such a bad movie.

@Miss Starlet – I second that about White Oleander! It seems like every book I read eventually turns into a really bad movie.

@ok – I really liked the original end to My Sister’s Keeper. It was really shocking and completely threw me…

I actually wasn’t too thrilled with the book and thought the movie was eh. I really only enjoyed Tucci’s performance. My SIL loved the book (which is why I went), but didn’t really care for the movie either.

Layla — As soon as I heard that they changed the ending of My Sister’s Keeper, I wanted to see it! I hated the book ending. : I have yet to see it, though.

I do want to see The Lovely Bones, too. I have not read the book, but the trailer for the movie looks so good! Glad to hear positive things.

When I did prose competitions in high school, almost every girl did a dramatic reading from The Lovely Bones.  For this reason alone, I cannot see the movie.  haha
